  • that's obviously jamie west-oram on guitar in this song-but you knew that-right?

  • This song i had in my mind for over 28...So glad to find it here! A timeless jewel...

  • Someone asked if RH used Fairlight on these songs - no, it was the PPG Wavemaker II - something that I craved immensely! :)

  • best song ever

  • Is really him on this photo ?

  • @valjean1ful

No, the black & white image is Rupert Greenall from The Fixx.

Rupert Hine produced some of The Fixx albums in the 80s.

    Brilliant band & brilliant producer.

  • Loved this song so long ago and guess what ? its still a beauty !! thank you fellow fans of Rupert Hine !!!

  • "Timless track"... Great track... Bloody Timeless even!

    :D

  • Wonderful

  • I remember the very first time I heard this song, it has stuck with me for 30 years!

I had to track it down a year or two ago not really knowing the name though, I LOVE YOUTUBE for this very reason, you can find damn near any song you can think of.

  • Great Lp...Way B4 cd's....A+

  • Grandísima canción, con esa atmósfera........

  • Best Song ever.

    Bitte Original Video reinstellen

  • it is the best song i remember for the good old time

  • As a person who appreciates melodic music in general, the music in this song is very hypnotic, and has an almost drug like effect when I listen to it. It is pretty obvious no doubt that Hine who produced the Fixx's early albums had substantial influence on their sound. This song, substituting Cy's voice of course, could rather easily pass for something off of Reach the Beach or Shuttered Room. I believe this is what genius can do when left uninhibited by the media and clueless record execs.

  • @carriersignal Do you think, Hine use ''Fairlight'' in this song ?

  • @carriersignal I was thinking that also -- how close it was to an actual Fixx song. Of course, if it was there would have been drums and bass, and the guitar would be more memorable -- but the spacy washes, the "openness", clarity and interesting vocal layers (the things that defined his Fixx production) are all here.

Hine needed a competent, open-minded band to express this concept fully.

Fixx needed someone to shape their sound give them direction.

    and Fate did the math.

  • @carriersignal well stated friend, you can clearly see how much he injected his signature keyboards and atmosphere into The Fixx cheers :)

In fact I think The Fixx should cover this - just to see what they come up with !!

  • Замечательная музыка.

Очень жалко что осталась практически не замеченной.

  • Fantastic of course! I

  • Tellement bon, so nice so well done, thanx for sharing !!!!

  • I honestly didn't know that Rupert Hine was the original composer of this song. But it's still great! But try this one made in the mid 80's by a swedish synthband called NASA. Don't know if YouTube will remove it. I've just uploaded it.

    Look for my channel "Snorken70"

  • I only had this on tape... and have not played it for years... brilliant to find it here....

  • LOL. Gosh did Jeannette know the whole time?

  • uh... shyeah!, Jeannette was in the know, sort of how the cheese knows it's in a cheese sandwich sort of way..

  • As another person commented, the second pic is of Rupert Greenall of "The Fixx" not Rupert Hine.

  • I used to love this one, and just discovered I still do. Time to pick it out again. And then I'll probably end up playing Samsara over and over again. Yup, I¨'ll do it right away! ;.)

  • Goodness, great to hear this again, forgot all about it! Just the sound will do me nice, no pictures needed!

  • is that Rupert Hine in the second pic ,it looks just like Rupert Greenall of the fixx.

  • Could it be 80-81 something? Great stuff from R Hine.
