@JustieDusty i got mine out yesterday morning...i was told to breathe this thing and the last thing i remember was the dr asking how i was and then i woke up...im a teenage female so they said that the anesthesia made me emotional and evrytime i stood up i cried...my bottom lip and my tongue was numb,honestly it did hurt after a couple hours but as long as you keep on ur ice pack and take the medicine they gave you,you'll be fine
@mkbieber98 The anesthesia will put you to sleep and will keep u calm so my advice is just let the guy/girl do what they gotta do and dont fight them if u start feeling uncomfortable let the oral surgeon know so that way he or she can give u something to help keep u calm

@sxymelissannt you can get novacaine, but if you want to hear the drill and see all the smoke in your mouth from the drilling... it's not worth it. Trust me I had mine out 10 years ago and you go to sleep and wake up like it never happened. You wake up acting just weird or cry. The drugs they give you are super strong.

@simpllyiliana I'm no expert, but I believe it depends how your wisdom teeth develop. for example my 2 lower wisdom teeth are impacted meaning they're pushing against the rest of my teeth so to prevent future pain they are going to be taken out.
and I've been told it is best to get them out when you're young so the jaw can heal better and the wisdom teeth wont be as developed so they'll be easier to get out.

@wesnaw722 ya i got em out a month or two. you have nothing to worry about! it was really simple for me atleast. first step was blood pressure and heart rate and oxygen sats. next they put the IV in my arm which did hurt a little bit, next they let me sit for 15-20 mins to make sure my heart rate and O2 sats were good. next they put the meds to make u sleep in the IV then i was asleep 2 seconds later. i woke up 2 hrs later not in pain just drunk as hell. ill continue this on another post!
continued from the last post: so i felt drunk and could barely walk that happens to everybody.. you may feel like puking but that only depends on the kind of sedation i got concious sedation meaning i could sill move my legs and arms and all that but i was in a sleep kinda state. you will get perscription drugs aka painkillers YOU MUST take them either 10-15 mins befor the last does is supposed to wear off so you dont get no pain, if u take em well u shud be painless! once again continued xD
ok so what you will need to do regardless of what ur surgeon says! is rince your mouth 5 or more times a day with warm salt water. you can make it by putting a tsp or two of salt in the water. rince for about 30 seconds to 1 min. after you did that rince with warm tap water. you wont be able to eat anything harder than KD so stock up on soft foods or instant breakfast drinks. they wont fill u up but for the 2 or 3 weeks u got the stitches they give u the vitamins u need! hope ur surgery goes gud
So many of these videos show people acting drugged out after getting their wisdom teeth removed. I got all of mine cut out a week ago. Two were impacted. I didn't get any crazy drugs or IVs. They just numbed me, gave me some gas and started cutting. I was completely awake and coherent during and afterwards. I was numb, but I wasn't loopy. I feel like I got jipped!

I had my wisdom teeth out. I wasn't like bonkers I was confused at first and the dentist was like waking me up and I was soo dizzy when I got up I almost fell forward and the novacaine didn't help.... let's just say when I took my medicine pop spill all over my front and I had to lick mashed potatoes with my tongue my mouth was numb for two whole days
You're surprisingly good at communicating non verbally. I could totally tell you were trying to say, "I can't write what I'm thinking. I think the words and they seem right but when I put them on paper they don't come out right!" and then at the end you're definitely saying, "I want this feeling to go away." Really funny and cute. Way to have a sense of humor and post this. I might have been too embarrassed to do so myself.

I got mine out today. I don't remember much but when the nurse tried to put the IV in, she couldn't find the vein and had to do it twice. I'm normally deathly afraid of needles, but they had me on laughing gas and I was actually laughing, so I could care less. All I said was "Ouchie" a lot. And then, once I was woozy on the laughing gas, the dentist said, "If you think that stuff is good, try this!" And he put my IV into the anesthesia, and he said, "I rest my case." That's all I remember.
That looks like it could hurt a lot once the painkillers wear off. I'll have to get wisdom teeth taken out soon, because they're growing the wrong way. I have to get put to sleep, though, because I have a condition that makes pain five times stronger than other people would feel (and also lessens the effect of most drugs). At least I won't have to pay for the surgery. I just hope I don't end up swearing at the nurses again, when I'm still doped up! LOL. =)
I'm highly hypersensitive. Whenever I get headaches, I usually end up having to go to hospital to get an injection, because nothing in tablet form will work. And that goes for everything. I can't get normal dental fillings done locally, because numbing or sedation doesn't work at all. I have to go for general anaesthetic every time I need work done. It's tough work dealing with that much pain, but it's something I just have to cope with. There's no miracle cure, unfortunately. =(
@IrenicElegance Not sure what it's called - but I have a friend that has some sort of condition that makes most local anesthesia ineffective, and sadly a second condition that makes it so they can't use general anesthesia for fear that his heart will stop - sucks to be him - he had to get this done while almost completely conscious.
@IrenicElegance Guy - but idk - I think his overall nerves don't work well - which is why the local doesn't work - so he might get overall reduced pain as well - but either way - it wasn't fun -lol

@thailinh123 They are the four back molars that grow after we go through or are going through puberty. How they got their name? Well, apparantly since they come in when we're older, we are somewhat wiser and more mature than we were when our baby teeth came in and fell out while our adult teeth were growing in. @pangaea611 it actually went really well! :) minus the whole pain after though, that was pretty bad. but it's different for everyone. the pain for me lasted about 5 days-week-ish & i had swelling and bruising. But besides that, the wisdom teeth removal went really well :) are you getting yours out soon? good luck, don't be scared you will do fine! :)

I had my wisdom teeth out. I wasn't like bonkers I was confused at first and the dentist was like waking me up and I was soo dizzy when I got up I almost fell forward and the novacaine didn't help.... let's just say when I took my medicine pop spill all over my front and I had to lick mashed potatoes with my tongue my mouth was numb for two whole days

You're surprisingly good at communicating non verbally. I could totally tell you were trying to say, "I can't write what I'm thinking. I think the words and they seem right but when I put them on paper they don't come out right!" and then at the end you're definitely saying, "I want this feeling to go away." Really funny and cute. Way to have a sense of humor and post this. I might have been too embarrassed to do so myself.

I remember I had wisdom tooth surgery 10 years ago when I was 17 years old and I'm 27 now.
I remember they drugged me out pretty well and for some people it takes them a while to wake up for this kind of surgery.
For me it took me a while to wake up they put me out at 11:00am and I didn't wake up until 5:00PM.
At 5:00PM I remember being in extreme pain so badly.
I cried like a baby and I remember telling my Mom please take the sticky off my chest.

I got mine out today. I don't remember much but when the nurse tried to put the IV in, she couldn't find the vein and had to do it twice. I'm normally deathly afraid of needles, but they had me on laughing gas and I was actually laughing, so I could care less. All I said was "Ouchie" a lot. And then, once I was woozy on the laughing gas, the dentist said, "If you think that stuff is good, try this!" And he put my IV into the anesthesia, and he said, "I rest my case." That's all I remember.

That looks like it could hurt a lot once the painkillers wear off. I'll have to get wisdom teeth taken out soon, because they're growing the wrong way. I have to get put to sleep, though, because I have a condition that makes pain five times stronger than other people would feel (and also lessens the effect of most drugs). At least I won't have to pay for the surgery. I just hope I don't end up swearing at the nurses again, when I'm still doped up! LOL. =)

I'm highly hypersensitive. Whenever I get headaches, I usually end up having to go to hospital to get an injection, because nothing in tablet form will work. And that goes for everything. I can't get normal dental fillings done locally, because numbing or sedation doesn't work at all. I have to go for general anaesthetic every time I need work done. It's tough work dealing with that much pain, but it's something I just have to cope with. There's no miracle cure, unfortunately. =(

@IrenicElegance Not sure what it's called - but I have a friend that has some sort of condition that makes most local anesthesia ineffective, and sadly a second condition that makes it so they can't use general anesthesia for fear that his heart will stop - sucks to be him - he had to get this done while almost completely conscious.

@thailinh123 They are the four back molars that grow after we go through or are going through puberty. How they got their name? Well, apparantly since they come in when we're older, we are somewhat wiser and more mature than we were when our baby teeth came in and fell out while our adult teeth were growing in. Hope that answers your question.
