i think the same. it would be great to include english subs. In that way you are really sharing this video with more people.... is it Swedish the most spoken language?
One character is not equal to one word in modern Chinese. Characters are more like morphemes (or building blocks of meaning). Most words are made up of 2 or more characters.
This is what a Chinese typewriter looks like. And this is Chop Stick Chang writing on it. As you might know, one doesn't use letters to write in Chinese, instead one uses symbols and each symbol is a word. There's 53,000 different symbols but you can get by with 2000. A Chinese typewriter isn't like ours..... blah blah blah. I can't be bothered anymore.
This is what a chinese typewriter looks like, (chinese name I don't know how to spell) is typing right now. As you may now chinese is not written with letters, but with signs, each sign being one word. In china, there are up to 53 000 different signs, but you can get by with knowing about 2000. As you can see, the chinese typewriter is not like ours, it's more like a toy printing house. This slate has 2500 signs, which are picked out by using a small magnet, passing a small roll of ink
@Yerdnie ..and then pressed on the paper, almost like a regular typewriter.
(0:59) Here (name) is searching for the signs, which are all very small. To easier find them, they are sorted after a system. E.g. all signs having to do with water are sorted into one row, etc. One has to be careful to not overturn the machine, with all the signs falling out, it'd take days to sort them again. When signs are missing, they can be found in this catalog (1:31) and then pick it out from a box next to..
@Yerdnie ..the typewriter (1.35). (Name) tells us he's not very good at typewriting, he's much faster by hand. Here (1:53), he's typing "This is a chinese typewriter, in China, the kids don't use letters, but signs, to write".
Hope that helps, sorry for any typos and/or mistakes with grammar.
I must admit, this one looks whole a lot harder than the Japanese version of the same kind I used to use. Oh wow, this is in sane.

It is faster to just write down the characters than to type them.
Chinese language and characters are not suitable for technology or science.

Apparently, modern keyboards are alphabet-biased.

Isn't it easier to just WRITE down the text instead of fucking with this crazy machine?

@n3vErw1nt3R I absolutely agree, using this typewriter is obviously way slower and harder to use than writing...

@n3vErw1nt3R I feel the same "If I were in his place", but we shouldn forget: they are chinese. they resolve rubik cubes at the age of four.
