Ink Cartridges - Refilling Ink Cartridge Common Problems

I am an educator and use a refill company to help defray costs of my HP printer. I discovered through excellent, skilled technical advice that the notifications that come in from HP to "update", etc. carries with it a mechanism to disable my printer if I am using refills. The notification blocks my printer with: error in cartridge, to printer needs aligning, to printer not connected. This is planted by HP themselves to sell ink. It is unethical and invades my privacy. Can we say "greed".

Refill kits are hit and miss. The problem is you aren't refilling under a vacuum so the foam inside doesn't properly absorb and suspend the ink. Also, if it's run empty it won't prime and won't work. I just buy remanufactured ink and toner at the refillmyink website because it's cheap and 100% guaranteed. Then I donate the empty to my kid's school. Schools and churches do fund raisers by collecting them.

Castleinkcartridges thank you for uploading this video. I've a Lexmard printer and the cartridges just cost too much. I bought a refill kit home today. Like you said I was very nervous about doing this since I've never done it before.
