Alyona, a healthy skepticism is generally a good thing, but there is a lot of information out there you should take in before saying you're "not a doctor" and doing your news segment anyway. Chemists / psychopharmacologists were speculating on this treatment 30 years ago, long before I had the same epiphany when I first tried MDMA in the mid 1990's. Its incredible potential for use in psychotherapy was one of the first things I noted about it.

Sorry Alyona but you're full of shit on this one. The study went well, theres doumentation all over the net. Ecstasy is uniquely suited to treat PTSD, since it inhibits the fear response and increases oxytocin (leading to greater trust and empathy). Also LSD showed a lot of promise as a treatment when it was given to patients in a safe environment. The horror stories come from experiments where the army was strapping people to hospital beds and giving them megadoses.

This was done along time ago and it works research it it was a physiatrist discoverd MDMA and treated people with PTSD and it worked. MDMA is what is in ecstasy. So dont go saying this is crazy it works everyone needs to research it.

I'm glad she admitted her ignorance on the topic because she sure showed her lack of understad about the factors controling memory encoding and why MDMA (which is not what's usually available in clubs, that's usually cut with a bunch of stimulnts) would cause the mind to re-encode a tramatic memory into a less stress triggering state... if you want to know how to correct this segment ask me.

I'm just a nerd with PTSD who has been part of more than one study with MAPS @ Harvard on the healty responsible use of psychedelics to heal trauma in those who's lives have been shattered by it. I don't know of a good video or documentary because of the goverment's rather rabid response to even slightly pro-psychedelic research and law enforcement's record of harrassment of people who appear pro-drug even for medical use. I'd recomend going to the MAPS study website and requesting information resources from them. maps.org That or look into how Switzerland uses LSD for PTSD trauma or isreal's PTSD research.

If you purposely relive a PTSD trigger memory during this state the mind reclassifies the memory in a less emotioally charged format so that the memory is less likely to cause a future flashback event. Beta-blockers have a similar effect. restrict your opinion to what you know if you're not going to be helpful or informed, k?
