Antidepressants for Stomach Disorders-Mayo Clinic

I suffer daily with bloating and excessive belching. I cannot explain what caused this but whatever I eat I always have a cycle of bloating , discomfort, belch, relief, then more bloating for at least 2 hours after eating. It is ruining my life, I can't eat when I'm out and I can't be in public places. It's always worse when I'm anxious or in social situations. Soon I will be seeing a GI specialist but from all the tests I've done so far I'm 100% healthy. Could this be functional dyspepsia?

why isn't Domperidone available in the US to treat Gastroparesis, my mother has complete parisis after a heria surgery last October, and is only able to take ice chips by mouth, and regurgitates more than 12 oz of fluid per day. From what I have read, Domperidone is the most useful drug for alleviating symptoms. Am I mistaken?

As a person suffering from refractory FD, I would jump at the chance to try any treatment that might relieve my epigastric pain. I wish every luck with these studies.

As one of the sufferers for whom "natural" controls failed miserably, and for whom very-low-dose antidepressants have worked, I have to disagree entirely with bonzaibb12's assessment.

This is outrageous and I am shocked the Mayo clinic is endorsing this. I have had severe gastro problems that I have managed to bring under control naturally along with millions of others who have also had the same success. This Dr is a prime example of the Pharmaceutical industry trying to get people to pop an antidepressant for every conceivable problem.
