The problem so many parents have, mine included, & especially theirs, is that they deny the fact that they do not own their children, that they gave birth to somebody that isn't an extension of them, but to a totally different person. That's why not being able to talk to your parents, of needing to go through an intermediary isnt a failure of parenting, or a betrayal by the child, but may be a necessity; not every voice sounds the same. How fantastic that Les can communicate this as well.
