Your hair came out SO good! The curls were so defined, loved it. I don't think I could ever get my hair to look like that. When I try to do any of these styles I see on youtube my hair NEVER comes out like that. I guess you have to have the midas touch. And your length is truly amazing. What did you apply to your hair in order to blow dry? I have only bd my hair 2 times and I did not like the way it felt, however your hair looks nice and soft.

@MsKinkydiva i use the same heat protectant i use when pressing my hair...KeraCare creme press...it can be found at most beauty supply stores...usually in their glass case..it is wonderful...i also apply some type of moisturizer/grease/oil to my hair b4 blowdrying

@jarny16 try twist styles (but not too tight) or rod sets until you get enough length to where you are comfortable with cutting it...i did my transition mostly with rod sets and presses but since you are going to loc then i'm sure pressing shouldn't be used as a transition method...and they also have loc extensions you could do and then slowly cut the extensions until the locs are all yours!

@Melbz u will most definitely need to bring some type of moisturizer and use it to retwist at night (doesn't have to be as many twists as the first time you do it) to keep your hair from drying out in the heat and sun

That is awesome. I recently tried the blow dry and twist out and I really prefer to rolling on wet hair because my hair never dries fully, even when I sit under the dryer I always underestimate the drying time and end up with a big puffy mess. Your method works sooo much better for me.

Hi monicajoi...no I didn't color my own hair...that's something I won't fool with in my kitchen...chemicals and color! The only color I will do myself is like a jazzing...something that washes out after a few weeks. My hair was lifted (bleach) and then color was deposited on it...and then highlights after that.
