@drc17123 how is that supposed to work.. a normal freewheel (such as used in a standard bicycle)disengages reverse...if you roll forward and stop pedaling it disengages. If it did what you said it would disengage in both directions, but then you wont be able to pedal, if i got you wrong i apologize.
@netfischer sorry didn't mean to say freewheel, what it is is a freecoaster*, what happens is the clutch sits off the hub until you pedal the bike in which the clutch moves into the hub allowing you to pedal. it moves back when the hub moves pushing it away from it. the clutch never moves unless the driver moves allowing the hub to move in both directions without catching.
@drc17123 it's not a freecoaster.. it's a simple casette with 2 or 3 removed chainrings, so that you can shift there and since there and the chain will slide. You can shift back easily. There are only freecoasters on singlespeed hubs.
its not a free-coaster, I think you can only get those on single speeds.
Chase uses a neutral gear system (that he invented with SIC). Basically, his cassette only has 6 gears, and the rest of the space is occupied by a "neutral gear" which is basically a freewheel body spacer. When he shifts on to the neutral gear, he can ride backwards with out pedalling backwards. very smart invention.
Theae guys wish they had a bmx...

@netfischer a freewheel, it disengages when you roll backwards and catches when you start to pedal forward again

@drc17123 as far as i know aaron chase does not use a freecoaster
he has his normal six gears but flattent his smallest gears
so his chain can not connect itself to the hub in 5th and 6th gear or so
like this his able to have some gears and riding backwards
sorry guys my english is poor (hope you understand what i want to explain)
