I admit this video wasn't the best example. This is a rare one. The protests usually begin with both Palestinians and international volunteers (and children) carrying signs and chanting peacefully. Usually, some minutes later the IDF begins firing bullets and tear gas canisters. Some of the younger protesters begin to throw rocks at this point. I've been observing these every week from both Bi'lin and Ni'lin. I've seen people get killed for NOT even touching a single rock.

I couldn't stop laughing watching the IDF run away from rocks while wearing their bullet proof vests, helmets, and fatigues and hiding behind heavily armed vehicles. One of them even gave up shooting them because he was so scared of some rocks!!! This protest is against a wall built between Israel and parts of the west bank. The wall is built to protect Israeli borders from the infiltration of suicide bombers. So, yes, I know what this protest is about, and to be against the wall means partialy being in favor of terror against Israel. It's unfortunate, but that's the truth. There is nothing I'd like more then reaching a viable agreement with them.
The problem here is that the wall is built on Palestinian land. Ni'lin will lose 1/3 of its land due to this wall. Its collective punishment and land theft occurring all at once. Looking at this from a much larger scheme, one could see a pattern of Palestinian homes razed for the Israeli wall and new settlements built on newly razed Palestinian land. I do not see this wall as an attempt to ward off and stop suicide bombers. It looks to me that Israel is using it to make another land grab.
I have nothing against the state of Israel's existence. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I am also not a supporter of Hamas due to the following: I am not a Muslim and Hamas favors an Islamic government (in spite of Christian Palestinians), I do not support Hamas' violations of humanitarian law (firing rockets into Israel), and I do not support Hamas' recruitment of children. Just putting a Palestinian flag would not accurately represent me as I am in favor of a 2 state solution.
