In January i read three books of Jane Austen (Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, Emma) and i loved them very much! And that's kind of funny since I'm mostley Since-finction/ fantasy. Like, Harry Potter, Eragon etcetera.
@cheesestreet Thanks :) Since you're a book worm I'll say if the cast of PP were at Hogwarts Bingsley would definitely be Gryffindor and Mary what else but Ravenclaw
Just finished Pride and Prejudice and as a 25 year old male young business professional it's one of the most well written pieces I've had the pleasure of reading.
Just finished rereading H.G. Welles The Time Machine which was exceptional & starting Robinson Cursoe
To Kill A Mocking bird is my personal favorite. I remember when, in my freshmen year reading that book in class. Although, I couldn't believe that my classmates resented that book because, it had too many pages and it was "boring". I mean come on!? To Kill a Mockingbird has warmth, humor, and deals with racial inequality.
@TheNostaglicFlower Totally agree! It makes me sad that lots of kids lack the attention span and interest to read these classic novels. Reading has always been fun for me, and I'm so grateful for that :)
@cheesestreet I just finished reading it for my grade 10 independent study project where we had to choose our own book to read! It was amazing!! I could barely put it down!!
I fowarded the video past 5 minutes a bit and heard you talking about "a tale of growing up" and "innocence" and I squealed inside hoping that would be a reference to To Kill a Mockingbird; and it was! Keep up the great vids!
My fave Chuck Palahniuk book is Rant! I have almost all of his books, I think they're fantastic! I'm reading 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' by Lionel Shriver. I'm also a big fan of the Wicked series.
i subscribed just because i noticed you did make up videos which i love and i also love to read. and your really beautiful in a unique way which is the best way to be beautiful (:
Have you read Joseph Boydens books "Three Day Road"? its a canadian book and it won the same prize as the frist book you held up.I mean I don't want to give too much away about the book, but the book is set in WWI and two oji-cree soldiers are the main characters. soo... yeah check it out
Since you are partial to all things Russian, I read an interesting book (for a class, but still) called Sacred Doorways, which is a guide on iconography and symbolism in Russian art. Though it deals mainly with religious iconography, I still found it fascinating how the cult of the icon lingers in Russia today.
But light and breezy reads I recommend are One Day by David Nicholls and The Romantics by Galt Niederhoffer--which is epically better than the Katie Holmes film!
@beautyinterrupted89 That Russian book sounds fascinating! That's exactly the type of thing I'm interested in- I'm nerdy haha ;) I'm going to try to track that down.
hey there :) as you like russian guys, have you read dostojewski? he's AMAZING!! but I actually don't know if his books are available in english... I also love Erich Maria Remarque's Autobiography (WW2)... greetings <3
@SwissGeek1 I haven't read Dostoevsky (North American spelling ;) ) , but have always wanted to. His books are available in English, so thanks for reminding me to get my hands on them! Haha :)
Have you read Memoirs of a Geisha? I loved it and when you read it you have to remind yourself it's a novel, because the story just sucks you into a different world that, to me at least, felt so real!
@bluehawaii19 The box set was a gift, but not surprising it's from Costco hahah ;) I have yet to make it through all the books... Much preferred the movies.... with Orlando Bloom... :P
we didnt read to kill a mocking bird... it was a toss up between that and another book and our teacher choose the other one ... other classes they read it tho.... u read such intellectual books nothing wrong with that ... just that when i read for fun i like to read "fun" books u know what i mean? hehe
@Zusie I haven't really... I've driven through Georgia and the Carolinas on the way to Florida, but I'd love to visit more of the South like Louisiana!
My favourite book is Atonement by Ian McEwan. It is so beautifully written and the film is also amazing. I would definately reccomend it, it's a really good read :) x
Recommendations:
-Alexandria Quartet (4 books: "Justine", "Balthazar", "Mountolive" and "Clea" by Lawrence Durrell...amazing and exotic)
- "Journey to the End of the Night" by Louis-Ferdinand Céline
- "Life: A User's Manual" by Georges Perec
- Henry Miller, "sexus" "nexus" and "plexus" (very harsh language and scenes too tho...the god of the beat generation)
- "The Count of Monte Cristo " by Alexandre Dumas (bet you have already read this one)
And my absolute fav: Thomas Mann, everything

@dhoakohime Thanks! What a list! And yes, I've read the Count of Monte Cristo, but I read it in French! Dumas is wonderful.
