she can sing amazing live, search "let the flames begin repack" to see. also now she sings emergency half a step down so its easier to sing live, this is the original high vision

The reason why Hayley sung it this way is because when she sings live she sort of shouts and it is hard on her throat and she is probably exploring new ways for new songs.

You have to remember that for studio quality, she can put as much strain on her voice as she wants/needs. If she can't talk the next day, well ... ^^
But as for live shows, there is usually the next one coming up the day after or 2 days after and she has to be ready to go again by then. And on that regard, they rock live!
