The DS version looks the hardest due to the corners looking sharper and I think the DS version is better because of the fact that the game is much more challenging but the music should have been the original versions though not those ringtones

This game isn't supposed to have the best graphics. IT'S ALL ABOUT GOOD AND FUN GAMEPLAY PEOPLE! If they gave you good graphics and made the gameplay all crappy, You'd still complain. AND STOP WITH THE PSP CRAP! THE DS IS THE BEST! APPERANTLY, THEY CHOSE GAMEPLAY OVER GRAPHICS, SO QUIT BITCHING!

@SuperSonic1ify Actually I said the PSP version. The PS3 version is pretty good, other then the loading screen time. But it's much more realistic and fun then the PSP version. But I agree. And they're afraid to make their games more childish, which, then, the PS1/2 had many childish games that were super fun to play for anyone. Same with the SNES. Megaman X Is a kids game but it's hard and a great game!

Sony and Microsoft seriously have to lay off all the dark games...just shooting people...

@Zawicki1 I find that it's the childish games that sell the best. Examples? Well, one can consider Kirby to be very childish. I mean, he's a pink puffball. Yet, that was a big hit on the NES, wasn't it? Pokemon is another great example. Very childish game, yet one of the best selling RPGs of all time.

I totally agree with you. Games are just so violent nowadays. What happened to good ol' platformers and puzzle games? Why is everything a shooter now?

@Yoshiller2 Yep. The majority of my games are classics or remakes, such as Ape Escape: On The Loose, Megaman Maverick Hunter X, Sega Genesis Collection, & more. It's gotten to the point that whenever I play video games it's on a SNES or Genesis Emulator. All the good games die. Like Crash, Banjo-Kazooie, & Spyro. The games die once they sell the rights to someone else. Crash I understand, since many of the employees couldn't work at Naughty Dog anymore. But Still...the other companies just left.

@SuperSonic1ify What makes this game really impressive, at least to me, is that it still has all the audio intact from the console versions, of course the music had to be synthesized, but it's very impressive sounding, and looks just as good considering it's on the DS. Sega and Sumo both knew what they were doing with this game.

The DS can handle MP3 music, yes, but not all songs in the game can be MP3 music. And the track designs don't necessarily look better than Mario Kart, mainly because Mario Kart DS was all original, where all of these courses are based off of console versions of the track.

@autosaver Well, the DS can only handle so much for a game with full-on 3D graphics, MIDI music, and about 20 characters. You have to understand that the DS versions will almost never be as good as the console versions of a game. Most of the time.

@autosaver less time? All the songs are MIDI-replaced first of all, show it shows that they spent the time to compose all the MIDIs. Second, to plan all of this stuff for the DS like character voices and design must've taken a lot of work.

1. The track design in Mario Kart is much better to me. Each track works out for almost every character.

2. Characters can be in multiple cars, not just one specific vehicle.

3. Every time you speed boost, your character doesn't lean back.

4. It's just.... more fun. Somehow. I dunno, I just find it more fun.

Differences between tracks: White Lagoon - No differences. Icicle Valley - Shortcut has been removed. - The first jump is now a simple hill. - A set of boost pads are missing (before going into the cave). Roulette Road - The split paths are longer, and have an extra turn in the console versions. Sunshine Tour - Completely changed. This isn't even the same course.

Found out something regarding Sunshine Tour.

This track's name was originally "Studio Amigo" and this was the course that was intended to be used on the console versions. However, it (as well as the other Samba de Amigo courses) were redone. In the 360 and PS3 manuals, you can see the design for the old course (which this one is), but with an alternate route not in this version.
