the manuals are the same really...they are a prick to drive though...the clutch is way heavier than the BA and BF's and the tranny is double plated so it can handle the power of the F6-310 and the GT.
hay i really some advice here. ive just placed an order on a new fg xr6 turbo in manual. i only drove the auto and it felt slow. will the manual feel like a actuall turbo car. all im after is that strong surge of gforce, all the evo's got it and the wrx's but will the fg have the same feeling if not more?
Original BA XRT had 3 valve spring revisions otherwise remained unchanged till April 06 when Ford took the decision to run the F6 bottem end accross all models as the T was known to throw the odd rod over 14psi - failing oil pumps where another drama but aftremarket billit jobbies fix that.
The F6 bottem end has been carried over to the FG XR6T but the 270 is achieved via minor revisions and spool earlier due to smaller housing - new F6310 runs forged internals, more comp and more boost - easy!
well I guess that settles it. two homo's think xr6 turbos suck. what does the rest of the world know? If they suck so much what are you doing watching xr6turbo vids on youtube? looking for the guy who spanked your v8?
no it hasnt, its just a developed form of the previous engine with stronger internals, slightly bigger turbo and tune to suit. developes 533nm from memory in factory form. whereas the old typhoon motor was 550 nm.
actually the fg xr6 turbo uses a smaller turbo then the fg f6 but the fg f6 motor is fundamentally the same engine as the bf f6 just a little more compression and a few other bits and pieces
boost, tlcool reffered the the typhoon motor not the fg f6. the typhoon motor being the BA/BF (since the currnet F6 has dropped the typhoon moniker). the DIVCT is more advanced on the FG series motor than the BF. might want to read the post a bit more carefully.
but what i am saying is the bf and fg f6 motor are almost exactly same bar a few changes like said, that wass the point i was getting at. also i was told this by nizpro so i think they may have a fairly good idea since they work closely with ford and fpv

real? it seemed to only be spinning one rear wheel when it was loading on the dyno, it looked like the right wheel wasnt spinning but when the camera comes back from the computer screen you can tell the wheel is spinning then, im just asking because im thinking of buying one and if the diffs are dodgy ill think otherwise and ive seen other videos on here where the fgs do the same thing

He means when the car comes off boost - when the dyno run is finished.. twice it looks like both the back wheels arent spinning after the car comes off boost but the engine is still revving..
It's REAR wheel drive. The camera angle only shows the right hand side so you only see the 1 rear wheel spinning. The front wheel doesn't spin since it's not front wheel drive nor AWD.
As a Holden fan i really wouldnt mind getting one of these, one problem i do have though is this colour, the black or charcoal one looks stacks better.
probley cause it handles better and is faster then XR8 its also faster then the VE SS where as the XR8 isnt..0-100 the XR6T is faster then the XR8 and SS..and just purely cause the aussie built I6 with a turbo is better then the yankee made 5.4 litre 3V, V8
You got a long way to go yet....Go with built Atomic engine for a start

lol even with a 4 spd auto my BA xr6t does it :P Evos wont have shit on torque compared to a xr6 turbo with 280rwkw.

the fg xr6T has a custom exhaust system with quad tips and a tune there the only mods to get the 280+rwkw and the injectors were maxed out .
with a set of bigger injectors sure to see over 300rwkw
