Well -- so then -- I shall offer a subtitle of this:
Orthodox Jewish Couple Pause beside the Dominican Parade. But thanks -- I just read the difference, specific and foriegn to me, between the "Litvish" and the Hasid -- seriously -- quite infomative.
@Armoredbaby not litvish... he has a beard....litvish men of that age generaly don't keep beards...especially not that long.... he looked chassidic ....specifically a chabadnik
They're orthodox but not chassidish. Different hats, different jackets, and usually no ties. But then again, to the un-informed we probably all look alike.
You too! I wish the temperture here now was anywhere near the wonderful warmness it was on that day above. It is funny - the only reason the music sounds so clear I recall now is because the music REALLY was loud. We had a visitor with us from Virginia and she was ...a bit overwhelmed.
I don't get it? What's so shocking? I'm also Hassidic, and would love to watch the Dominican Parade. I love Bachata, and merengue, (and Salsa for that matter).
It is not meant to be shocking -- it was just a sunny day and the city -- I just thought it was a great capture: the classic hands behind the back posture, the couple stopping briefly in the park
why is this even a thing?

My apologies -- I should have gone with the more broad term. Still I loved this moment, during the summer, and the explosion of Dominican music!
