it sounds that way because they are using an 20b 3 rotor running 450hp. Love the concept but still prefer the 787b running a r26b in 91 le-mans. that motor was from hell itself and imagine the possibilities if mazda had actually kept developing its tech on rotaries what we would have 20yrs later. Something way better than the rx8 which is weak by comparison

@pvtdangles It sounds similar to the 26b engine because rotaries have 3 power strokes per revolution of the e-shaft. So that is 9 power strokes per revolution of the e-shaft on a 3 rotor engine. The 26b in the 787 has 4 rotors so there are 3 more power strokes per revolution of the e-shaft. Hence the reason it sounds closer to the 787b than say any of the RX's because they have half the amount of power strokes per revolution. More power strokes, different sound.
