I consider the '98 Godzilla to be a crappy remake of this. They have a lot more in common than anything from Toho's series.

20,000 fathoms is 120,000 ft. That's easily over 4 times deeper than Challengers Depth. The deepest part of the ocean in the Mariana Trench.

@Sharptooth100 Finally someone that shares the same opinion as me. He breathed an atomic breath and put hundreds of people in hospital beds while burning up the city and taking down buildings. And it's Fathoms not phantoms.
