This is awesome! I really love hearing Chuck Thompson's radio call. It brings back special memories. I was 14 at the time and being punished for not raking the leaves--my punishment was that I wasn't allowed to watch TV. Instead I listened to it on the radio. I will never forget Chuck Thompson's call of the winning FG by Toni Linhart. Absolute classic!
@rchtmn2010 Right on, bro. The Baltimore Colts moving to Indianapolis rates right up there with the Brooklyn Dodgers moving to LA as one of the worst franchise shifts ever. Should never have been allowed to happen, in light ofthe Colts being involved in the two most important games in NFL history, the 1958 NFL Championship game vs. the NY Giants, and Super Bowl III vs the NY Jets.
The 70's marked the end of an era in pro football. Most of the games were played outside on grass/dirt fields. When it rained the field turned to slush and you played in mud. Also quarterbacks didn't wear any dresses and got hit just like any other player.
I was at that game section 4 in en zone upper deck row seven seat one.In the the horse shoe. Burt Jones is the best pure passer I have ever seen. If not for injuries he would have gone to the hall of fame Lydell wasn't to bad also. But Burt always had a perfect spiral and it was on the money . What a ere game . Burt looked good just warming up. I loved I had season ticket and there gone. I love the Ravens but that Blue and White with the horse shoe belong to Baltimore!!!
ONG OMG OMG. This was the BEST Football I was ever at. Thank You For posting this. At 17, this is why i am a life long Colts fan. That kid at the very end.. yup. Thanks!!
I've been a Colt fan since the Super Bowl V year when I was eight years old. 1975 was kind of a rebirth after a few lean years. About this game, I've told many people it's probably the best 10-7 game you'll ever see.
Great game....I was a 13 year old boy and remember watching this late day game! My mom actually let me eat in the living room while I also bit my nails puling for the Colts to win!
A big reason the field was in such poor condition was the fact that during the season they used Memorial Stadium to practice in every day. There was no training facility back then.
Roger Carr is my distant cousin. Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to remember when he played in the NFL and I've never even met him. Roger and my late father were second cousins.
That always struck me as funny too. I am a die hard Browns fan, still a season ticket holder, and I've always taken heat about the really bad conditions of old Cleveland Stadium and it's green painted dirt. But old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore had NO grass on it anywhere, baseball diamond or not, late in the season. It was just a greyish, mud-like surface that completely came apart. You could actually see the small round patches of moss that somehow survived the season. Unbelievable.
Man this is great!!!!! I remember being a thirteen year old boy sitting in from of our T.V watching this physical game. My mom actually aloud me to eat my supper in front of the T.V set until Tony Linhart kicked the winning field goal in overtime! Thanks for bringing back a great game to a man who loves to relive portions of his childhood.
Could you please unlock the embedded codes for these videos I really would like to put some on my page they are great it's nice to see somebody remembers Baltimore's proud past thank you so much.
so cool, those '75-'77 colts, i loved them, playing in modest memorial stadium. they turned their year around (1975) at a time when teams just didnt do that. it was unbelievable. then from '78-'80 i rooted for the kardiac kid browns
Hearing Chuck Thompson and Bill O'Donnell voices doing the Baltimore Colts game again is so wonderful. Seeing the "Big Wheel" doing the C-O-L-T-S!, and that thunderous cheer is like stepping back to my teen years and getting that great feeling back, one more time. It would be great to have these on DVD. I would purchase them all. Thanks for posting these!
I told stories about this game for years. I was 16 at the time, and sitting in the temporary seats in the open end of the horse shoe. I remember these Dolphin fans sitting behind me saying that they loved coming to Baltimore "There's something Midevel about this place, we love it". I ended up in the middle of the field, couldn't find my father and was holding Tom MacLeod's chin strap and about six rolls of tape that I kept for years. This is really great being able to see these again.
Great stuff! I'm a fan of 1970's football. It was the last real era in my opinion. The 80's had all the rule changes for more offense. Now you have pass interference calls for breathing on receivers.
OMG, Bill Belichick at 2:21!!!

The fog reminded me of the 1965 game between the Colts and Packers. Didn't the Colts start the season 0-4?

It's funny but i'll allways associate the 1975 Colts with Christmas time because the championship was decided in mid December.
You'll think i am crazy but every time i see Santa Claus, i call him Bert Jones!!
My kids think i am a bit ''deranged'' but it's memories that i am fond of since i was a 10 year old boy from Montreal!!
