I had one opinion and people started flaming me. I'll like to say its an debate, but there is no valid answer. I was a fan, but I did not praise them! You want to win this, but you don't have a valid argument. Tuomas made it more appealing. I don't think they're good anymore, IMO. Just because NW is a popular band and Tuomas is the songwriter, doesn't mean the music is in FACT good. Music is subjective. Are you apart of a NW fan group whose slogan is NW is here to stay?

Hello Ankka939, Agree to disagree. DPP may be their best selling album, but its not their best sounding album. MUSIC is all that matters, at least to me it does. DPP is definitely not their best album, music wise and singing wise. Live, Anette doesn't sound like she did on the album, thats what the studio is for. Listen, I'm not here to argue, I sure that isn't your intentions as well. But I have yet to hear a good reason of why Nightwish is still good. I wish them luck, but they won't last.

This is like the only old Tarja song that I actually think is better suited for Anette. They are both great singers, but most of old nightwish is way out of her vocal range, them changing the key on this however was genius. I always thought this song sounded a bit odd when Tarja sang it, and I think Anette's more rock centric sound is more suitable.

Listening to live preformances from both Anette and tarja, I personally think that Anette's better. Her voice carries better than Tarja's in a concert situation, but I think I still do like Tarja's singing better than Anette's when it comes to the CDs.

I'd also like to add that it was the band's decision, not solely Tuomas's. Anette's voice is different than Tarja's so obviously they're going to sound different. Some songs I do agee Tarja pulled off perfectly and Anette dosen't quite measure (ie Phantom of the Opera, which they cited they pobobly won't play again), but I love Anette and I think she brings something new to most of the songs and songs like Wishmaste and Nemo she kinda makes he own and they come out great. Total cutie too

IMO, NW completely missed the boat for not choosing an operatic singer and I am far from being the only one who thinks the same. I have nothing personnal against Annette, she seems quite a decent person and she has some talent. I am generally disappointed with her voice (too generic) but I don't mind her too much on a song like Amaranth. It suits her voice and style. However, Wishmaster (especially when you compare it to Tarja's beautiful version)shows her limitations as a singer.

I would say terrible is a poor choice of words. Is it different?  Yes. And in being different the sound now appeals to a different crowd. Some old fans are part of this crowd still, some are not. It doesn't mean it is terrible. Annette does have talent, just different talent. The more proper thing all of you should be saying is that you do not enjoy it, which is fine. So, when I first came across this I though to myself 'damn video thief' and then I looked at the user profile and thought 'wait no, it's cool I gave him copies of this after the show.' Audio of this was much better at the show. But it's decent for a digital camera. ^ ^
