The first motion picture was "The Horse In Motion" made in 1878 or 1879 i forget. It's an amazing movie with captivating characters and amazing camara work with pretty good acting.
The first big nation of film-making was france, after WWI the US took over. In the first time, the movies were more like documentations. The Idea of showing movements and pictures of the reality on screen was so amazing back then, the people didn't had the idea to film actors like they knew them from the theatre. The idea was getting popular in the US after WWI, Europe is more the center of avantgarde-film-making and experimental filming.
thanks for the history of filmmaking i love movies too
