i didnt like navi much when she waas nagging me, but she was a pretty decent sidekick to be honest, and what i liked was that she stayed with link as much as possible and didnt leave him alone even when she couldve been killed (by ganondorf). i found that really sweet.
I think in the story Navi is fine. I hated that anytime you go exploring she nags you relentlessly telling you where to go next, If i wanted to know that, id ask her, that's why you are not forced to talk to Red lion or Midna when you are roaming in the other games. I was just like "Shut up Navi I know what to do, I want to get pieces of heart right now!" (ಠ益ಠ)
It's been confirmed officially that Link was searching months for Navi in the forest when he stumbled upon Skull Kid. It doesn't matter if us the fans dislike Navi, not at all. Link loved Navi with all his heart. It's what keeps this story alive, the feeling of realness you get from playing. Creating a timeless game.

Navi really is special. I think that ocarina of time wouldn't be the same without her. I am one of the people who believe (or know) that link is looking for navi. @eveieisback Actually, gloverandall ( I think that's how you spell it) did the whole game on film. They are very good walkthroughs, and he has a clear voice and good tips.

Regarding that player's guide you had for MM, chuggaa: the reason why they tell you to play the song of time to return to the dungeon's entrance is, IIRC, because they had a prerelease of MM where playing the song of time in a dungeon warped you back to the entrance. Nintendo then decided that that actually made no sense with the song of soaring now in the game. So they changed it in the final release. And in the european version of MM, I think you can't even play the song of time in a dungeon.
Navi isn't bad at all. She really kinda grew on me after playing the game for the 5th time. I really respect Navi and I don't know what makes her so bad. She tells u how to open doors. That's important right?

Considering I went as far as to make Navi's "hey listen" my notification ringtone on my phone, I didn't think she was annoying at all. In fact, she's one of my favorite characters in the zelda universe, and definitely my favorite companion Link's had so far.

Let's see....one, two,three, FOUR mistakes on the first 40 pages, and thats not even in the walkthrough part yet...you think after all these years, prima would get a LITTLE better at making guides...and considering there the main maker of guides,they shouldn't have that many mistakes.
U can find Navi, in a chest in majora, similar to how u can find the triforce in a chest in ocarina of time, it just never was part of the game because they ran out of time. thumbs up so chugga will see.
The Last Airbender had some really cheesy commercials sometimes and Navi was no help to me whatsoever. I find Tatl's bell ringing thing better than Navi going "HEY! LISTEN!"
Argeed! That's why I liked the Lanayru Mining Facility in Skyward Sword; especially the one room where it looks like there's a neon sign on the wall. Heck, I loved the whole Timeshift Stone mechanic as a whole; the Lanayru Desert was bar none my favorite Overworld area of Skyward Sword (even though the other 2 areas tie for a *very* close second)!

I've never had Prima's guides. it was either VersusBooks, BradyGames, or the included ones with the game. Never had many problems with those ones, except the fact that VersusBooks is no longer around. As for Navi, meh. She just got ignored whenever possible.
I never hated Navi, she never really said anything on my playthroughs. The thing I do hate though, is the FUCKING OWL! That asshole talked so god damn much, and after he was done, he decided to fuck with you more because he knew you were flipping through the text quickly so he puts the default response to listen to him again. Ugh.
Nintendo didn`t improved alot with zelda games (my personal opinion). Majoras Mask was good but many People thought it could be suited more for kids than for teenagers because of the Mask Theme. Wind Waker came and yet again alot of People thought its more like a game for the younger Players. Twilight Princess was just a rehash of OOT with Wolf changing. And now skyward sword while i say the Weapons and Dungeons are good but that game is yet again a rehash of older games with few new stuff.
Alot of new gamers will not like OOT that much because they did not experience it back then. SAT/PSX had alot of mediocore games only a bunch of them were good and few of them were really amazing like Metal Gear, FFVII, Resident Evil 1&2, Silent Hill and Saturn had even less famous games including Panzer Dragon and Shining Force III. With the release of N64 and Mario64 it was like something that looked and played completly awesome and different. And then cam OOT that game toped everything.
yeah, i agree with chuggas defense of navi... plus, the "hey listen" thing, is pretty much her in game sound. i still do have a new fpund respect for navi now,
it's just more gameplay wise how she would interrupt the flow to tell you something you could find out on your own or just keep making noise if you ignored her.
Tatl is a lot more fun character-wise though, but It doesn't make Navi's character bad,

U can find Navi, in a chest in majora, similar to how u can find the triforce in a chest in ocarina of time, it just never was part of the game because they ran out of time. thumbs up so chugga will see.

The Last Airbender had some really cheesy commercials sometimes and Navi was no help to me whatsoever. I find Tatl's bell ringing thing better than Navi going "HEY! LISTEN!"

Argeed! That's why I liked the Lanayru Mining Facility in Skyward Sword; especially the one room where it looks like there's a neon sign on the wall. Heck, I loved the whole Timeshift Stone mechanic as a whole; the Lanayru Desert was bar none my favorite Overworld area of Skyward Sword (even though the other 2 areas tie for a *very* close second)!

That story of Navi was reallllly true, because, she DID care for Link, and helped him on his quest, and I for one other indivisual pretty much liked her, even though Iwas a tad bit younger, and Navi was a nice little thing for Link(and Saria), Link's Bestfriends in Ocarina of Time. Link and Navi Bestfriends forever!!!!!!!XD >(o.o)</ And I wasn't really found of 'The Last Airbender', but the graphics weren't that bad! I think the shows were much better than the movie (my own thoughts)

I didn't really think Navi was all that bad. Like, I can understand why Navi is annoying to everyone. But don't you think that Link would really miss Navi because she disappeared and Link went on a quest to go find her...She was important to him and was a spark, like Chugga said, that started Link's quest.

I've never had Prima's guides. it was either VersusBooks, BradyGames, or the included ones with the game. Never had many problems with those ones, except the fact that VersusBooks is no longer around. As for Navi, meh. She just got ignored whenever possible.

I never hated Navi, she never really said anything on my playthroughs. The thing I do hate though, is the FUCKING OWL! That asshole talked so god damn much, and after he was done, he decided to fuck with you more because he knew you were flipping through the text quickly so he puts the default response to listen to him again. Ugh.

Nintendo didn`t improved alot with zelda games (my personal opinion). Majoras Mask was good but many People thought it could be suited more for kids than for teenagers because of the Mask Theme. Wind Waker came and yet again alot of People thought its more like a game for the younger Players. Twilight Princess was just a rehash of OOT with Wolf changing. And now skyward sword while i say the Weapons and Dungeons are good but that game is yet again a rehash of older games with few new stuff.

Alot of new gamers will not like OOT that much because they did not experience it back then. SAT/PSX had alot of mediocore games only a bunch of them were good and few of them were really amazing like Metal Gear, FFVII, Resident Evil 1&2, Silent Hill and Saturn had even less famous games including Panzer Dragon and Shining Force III. With the release of N64 and Mario64 it was like something that looked and played completly awesome and different. And then cam OOT that game toped everything.

I don't think anyone dislike Navi as a character,
it's just more gameplay wise how she would interrupt the flow to tell you something you could find out on your own or just keep making noise if you ignored her.
Tatl is a lot more fun character-wise though, but It doesn't make Navi's character bad,
even if it is a little bland in comparison.
