ive watched alot of your vids. man how do you stay so cool? id be thrown a dam fit trying to fix that stuff. those are what we call here in indiana Hackjob Vaginas Assraping Cuntrag Retards.
man,FUCK whoever did this shit.someone just give me the name of the company that did this and let ME get fucking sued.whoever did this work is retarded!!!
Well, there is only ONE company that is actually located in Sun City West, Arizona. They installed this unit and most of them Trane XL19i's that are all facked up!
Never profess or publish ANY bad talk about ANY other company's work. You can be SUED for "Poisoning A Contract". Believe me, it is a LAW that can be used against YOU. No matter if you are right or not about the bad work that you bad mouthed. YOU can end up paying the previous contractor BIG BUCKS for saying ANYTHING bad about their work. Regardless if you are right or not. DON'T DO IT! Ever! Some guy's make more suing than doing good work. Ask your attorney.
There is no names posted in the video. And this is the internet. If people can't be sued for bad mouthing our President of the united States, then the company who installed these units can piss off! Besides, my videos are 100% accurate.
HvacrTalk . com welcomes Techs contractors and consumers to join free and discuss and trade infor and learn meet others in the trade. good links and resources...all you need is a valid email to activate your account.
Damn, I do heavy comm. and Ind. heat, cool, process, never ceases to amaze where people squeeze 100 ton chillers etc. Nobody ever thinks of the techs that will have to return for service someday. Seems to be the one thing all service tech agree about.
This is why Electricians go nuts when tin knockers install equipment. The NEC code states in a safe and workman like manner. Not only should you mention the company's name, but who was the inspector???
Their name is named directly after the state motto of Arizona. Grand ***** state. Leaving off the GRAND part of course and add A/C to the end! LOL! Inspector? That's the problem. They don't enforce these jacklegs to ever pull a permit! So no inspection on this or any of the other zero clearance installs by this company that I have in my videos!
I do hvac in the east velley. Glad to see im not the only one in arizona deling with the dumd ass hack companies all day long. Its all the same crap, wrong run cap size poor access or un-inforced building codes. Scottsdale is the worst for access the rich wont put in proper fixed ladders becuase it looks ugly, screw em.
You noticed that TOO about Scottsdale? Especially COMMERCIAL! Some BAD ladder access over there. Pinnacle Peak and Pima. That newer area. You have to give security your license to unlock the suicide ladder. Then once on top they have an ALUMINUM STEP LADDER laying up there to access the next level that's at a STEEP pitch on a metal roof! I HATED that f**king place! Don't miss it one bit! Building Codes are corrupted, non existant, or not enforced. Haven't figured which is the truth yet!
Oh they do exist, I carry the building mechanical code for roof access in my truck to show people how much they are violating the codes. I have come to the conclushion that inspectors are worthless or just dont care about enforcing crap as long as they get paid. I had a bad fall 3 months ago trying to climb down a fixed ladder and fell 10 feet and fractured my ankle, still hurts like hell but I had to get back to work after a few weeks off, made me realize its not worth the risk.
Im glad I dont do commercial anymore, but it seems like residential isnt much better out here. I have been in arizona for 6 years, before that I did alot of commercial in hollywood california. Now thats a place where ALL codes get inforced even the really stupid ones. The hvac code book out there is at least twice the size as the arizona one. But techs seem to take pride in their work out there. Alot less scamming too, just over pricing.
I worked on an american standard heat pump yesterday in scottsdale that was an inch from the wall. It was 2 years old. The company that put it in left the screws off the door so you could just pull it off because there was no way in hell you could unscrew the screws otherwise. Then a pool company redid the patio surface and sealed it down to the concrete instead of lifting it up just that inch or two they could have. Not to mention it was a 12 seers. oops geuss they didnt get the 13seer news.
lol thats too funny its so easy to install the unit properly the lines come off the side and are usually just the right hight to enter the house with no 90's needed. typical dumbass install there.
yup! The bad thing is while phoenix, Arizona is in such HIGH DEMAND for refrigeration, they don't require people to be educated or TRAINED before being allowed to install/repair refrigeration! As long as a tech can sell parts and gimmicks to a home owner, many residential companies will hire and keep a tech!
LOL! What Journeyman? 99.99999999999% of the HVAC industry is NOT in the local Union. Instead, it's the Blind leading the Blind! I am not kidding either!
BTW, I am in the Local 409 now. Doing commercial only. :) The "Apprentice" that I work with is a genius compared to some of the shit I have seen by techs who are much older and have been in the trade longer.
Yup. Indestructable. But don't expect to fit a hard start in there! And watch your fingers when running it with the top section removed! There are a handful of those still running here in Phoenix. And they are quieter than many newer units.
in noticed with ac unit installed in the 60s and 70s that there were no disconnect boxes installed just the electrical wire from the wall running straight to the ac unit.
Depends on the codes and if the area enforced them. Luckily we don't get too much of that around here. In some of old Sun City they have them that way but it's just fine because the main circuit panel is on the same side of the house with no obstruction to access the breakers.
when my dad had his old 1970 ge, it was setup that way 'til he got a new bryant ac back in '99. some of the houses around his way still has their original ge central ac unit still without the disconnects and wow those 38yr old unit still runs.
Was it one of them square G.E.'s? Some of those were the same as the Tranes. I hated how the top fan grill had to be removed to get to the run capacitor and othe rparts. But damn those units take a licking and keep on ticking!
yep, except the fan grill was round and was a dome-shaped. i beleive these unit debuted in the late 60's because i saw on ad on ebay with that same unit, but it was from 1967. i rarely see them in houses outside my area.
OK I think you are talking OLDER than the square ones I'm talking about! The square ones had model # like BWC060A100 which was simular model numbers Trane used until just very recently when they changed the model sequencing again. I think the square jobs made it into the early 80's. Looking at your favorited videos, you like OLD appliances. That's bringing back choildhood memories looking at that stuff. I was the kid who took apart EVERYTHING in the house when the parents/grandparents were gone!
OMG I got to shake your hand! That hit the nail ON THE HEAD! I argued with the management at this company about how a GOOD installation company would bid these jobs to DO THEM RIGHT or not do them at all! If they can't install top brands how they were designed, they should have stuck with 13 seer entry leval installations! At least then it wouldn't be as much of an insult as seeing the two stage stuff installed to perform no better than the 10 seer! Especially their Trane XL19i stuff I've shown!
Installs like this job here really made me mad though. There was TONS of room to pull that further form the wall, or rotate it 90 degrees as long as teh one side was at least 12" form the wall.
Also, it seems that a lot of places in the West have A/C on the roof. Big mansions in Los Angeles have the same setup, as do some in Florida. I think there are other reasons besides a lackluster code enforcement board? Something to do with the terrain?
I've got some video you should see that I'll have to reupload onto this account. But you can find it on another account here. Just search "Scary 2 story Rooftops" or something like that and find the ones I made with heat pumps on two story roofs!
Does a Trane XL19i really cost ten grand? HVAC is an interest of mine.
I live in Pennsylvania, by the way, in a 4-month old luxury townhome built by Toll Brothers with dual-zone Carrier 13 SEER A/C and natural gas furnaces, and i was wondering how i could tell if they were installed the correct distance? They are easily accessible to an HVAC guy, know that much. Also Toll Brothers is building in Scottsdale, have you been out to any places built by them?
30" should be the clearance from any control panel that has high voltage inside it. That is per National Electricl Code as well as many local city building codes.
I never heard of that builder though. But most of them start hackin away when they realize what shit they can get away with in Phoenix!
That's just it. These companies just want to use the least amount of effort, and materials like COPPER to do these installs. You would think after a charging close to $10k for their new HIGH EFFICIENCY Heat Pump, that the companies would at least do it properly!
But nope. Out here in the Phorenix area where the dollar rules and the city is too corupt to enforce code, this is what you get!
B= poor kids straight outta rsi or something getting shown the quickest, cheapest, and easy way of doing an install and getting turned loose on the valley.
The BACK of the unit? Sh*t! That's the access panel to service the compressor, refer charge, electrical, etc. These things don't run forever without any service or repairs!
Code states that there MUST be 30" unrestricted access. These baboons left us 8 or MAYBE 10" of access! I'd need to bring my 2 yr old to get in there!
I agree, really dumb, in my home town, the lennox dealer got most of his unit installed like that, I am thinking how in the heck are they suppose to service it!!!
The company doesn't care. The truth is probably that they don't want to allow the installers to spend the extra 30 minutes and 3 feet of copper to rotate a new unit 90 degrees to facilitate proper service.
ive watched alot of your vids. man how do you stay so cool? id be thrown a dam fit trying to fix that stuff. those are what we call here in indiana Hackjob Vaginas Assraping Cuntrag Retards.
