  • haha ive been on Waverly and 6th =D im from england ;)

  • I love using hats. And I miss nostalgia so much, its not what it used to be.

  • i dig the end metaphor for the rocketboom separation :D

  • I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR BEING INSIDE THE TAXI WITH THOSE 3 EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN INSTEAD OF THAT GUY (IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIM, I WOULD BE ENJOYING THAT SEEN AND NOT CONCENTRATING IN ACTING SO THEY WOULD NEED TO RE CAPTURE THE SCENE 100000000000 MILLION TIMES!!!!!!!)

  • Good stuff, you've turned me into a Mad Men fan

  • Ella, you got class. :)

  • wow how do you make a fedora look so sexy

  • you BETTER have bought that hat! really!

  • Nice hat! Hope you bought it!

  • Can't say that I'm all that nostalgic about NYC but its fun to play internet tourist and check out the key locations. I've never been to NYC and Ella makes an excellent tour guide. I've been wondering about Mad Men. Don't know what I've been missing.

  • Ella's really grown on me!

  • @JoeDull Just like a fungus!

  • GOD DAMN! SPOILER ALERTS!!

  • wow!!! Tell me you bought that hat.

  • LOL! The know your meme guy is walking around the city in his lab coat! :D

    Nice work Ella!! :)

  • Ella, you look great in that hat. If you were just trying it on for the show, go back and buy it.

  • @phillyphan32992 I liked it too, but I don't think I can justify spending the $150.

  • That accent is EXTREMELY sexy

  • ROCKETBOOMNYC followed me on Twitter.

    Winnar is me.

  • Lovely dress, Ella!

  • taxi scene at end: it's actually a pretty good metaphor for how they each get their own shows lol

  • i love mr affro man.. hes in the back seat with 3 drop dead gorgeous women, and all hes thinking is "must get more leg room!". lol

  • @Izhape It's a bit Carmen Sandiego, no?

  • @ellamorton lol hmm just add a red coat. and viola!

  • Awesome Ella!!!

  • Spoiler alert! WTF!

  • im mad for you, baby ;PPP

  • Ella every Wednesday!?!

    Presses Click!

  • Fun video. I would also suggest swinging by The Dublin House on 79th Street/B'way, where Greg breathed though a glass the day he did not make surgeon. Dublin House and St. Luke's Hospital (in all its late 1950s architectural wonder and where Greg volunteered to help the negro children during the missile crisis) are still there. Of course, for the more mainstream there is the new home of SCDP in the Time Life Building. A lot of Mad Men NY is still here, you just have to look.

  • Strange enough, I find it very entertaining just to see all four Rocketboomers together in the same shot.

  • i <3 molly

  • This feels a bit like a video version of New Yorker magazine. A taste of NYC for those of us not fortunate (or foolish) enough to live in the city.

  • nice dress.

  • The lines you quoted at the beginning is from one of my favourite scenes of Mad Men. It's on my top favourite list on my channel, wee!

Would Don really take them to Sardi's??

Newly single? Shit. I need to catch up on episodes. Damn.

All these little clips at the end promoting the new channels are so cute!

  • @TheHill88 The carousel scene is truly brilliant. And Sardi's is where the Bobbie Barrett...ahem..."encounter" happened. Who could forget that magical moment?

  • @ellamorton OK. I am REALLY behind. And I call myself a fan *slaps face*

  • I hope ella's channel is successful with this new switch :)

  • mmmmmmm dat dress.

  • And how could I forget Patsy's Pizzeria! The real one up on 117th and 1st, not any of the imitators that have sprung up all over town. The Lancieris made the best piece of pizza in New York, and that continues 77 years later. The Yankees used to stop in all the time, Sinatra was a fan, and Coppola planned out "The Godfather" in the dining room. It doesn't get any more Old New York than that.

  • Miss Morton, that was an excellent breakdown of a few days' classy journey through Manhattan. (Even JJ's, which has been covering my family for generations.) I'd suggest a drink at PJ Clarke's, an afternoon at the Forbes Gallery, a film at the Tower East or The Paris, and, if you know a member, dinner at the New York Athletic Club. Oh, and the Morgan Library, specifically the section which has remained unchanged since the old man died.

  • Ohhh, back from a 2 week visit 2 New York for the first time and I loooooooved it. And I see a lot of spots we visited. One night we tried to get in to Sardi's, but is was sooo incredibly busy and we were very so we didn't wait. So we went to John's pizzeria (same street) instead. Great food, good price.

Sigh, I want to go back....

Oh, lovely dress you're wearing Ella.

  • I don't what Yatta was complaining about, I'd pay a lot of money to have taken his place in that first cab.

  • Nostalgic New York Locations:

    uh.

    Central Park?

    Delmonico's

    21 Club

    PJ Clarke's

    Stork Club

    Woolworth's

    El Morocco

  • @InTecknicolour Ah yes, PJ Clarke's! That's where Peggy did the Twist on the show. Great list.

  • @ellamorton And I do believe Don and Betty went to dinner @ the Stork Club with Jimmy and Bobbie Barrett in one episode.

  • @InTecknicolour There's a Woolworths in NY? Im guessing it's not the same as the one that used to be in the uk...

  • @Dancingstagequeen Correction: Woolworth's no longer exists as a store under the Woolworth's name. They are only known by the Foot Locker brand nowadays.

There is a Woolworth's building in NYC, but sadly no Woolworth's owned company still resides in that building.

  • @InTecknicolour ah in the uk Woolworths was just an appliances shop. Well known for being bombed during the war.

  • I've just started watching Man Men and am enjoying it. But wow, the 60s in it seems like quite a sexist time.

Oh, and I really want a fedora now. Next time I'm in NYC I'm going to that place.

  • @markiduval - A specialty shop like that is going to charge you a small fortune, all to look like your typical hipster douchebag. The hats are pretty cool, I agree; but to wear one today, decades after they've gone out of style is not a good move.

  • @johnnytastetest Don't care if it's a good move or not really :)

  • @markiduval - Very well.

  • FABULOUS

  • Flippin' heck, Ella, you scrub up really well!! xxx <3

  • Congradulations on having your own Rocketboom channel Ella!

  • You rock that hat ! :)

I love all the little NYC stories.

  • The classy look of flowing black dress, high heels and long natural hair. Beats the miniskirt, bleached look and boob tube any day. Sophistication is sexy.

  • They should invite Ella to guest star on Mad Men... It'll be a red head show down between her and Christina.

  • what ever she wears, she make it look good.

it's never the garment, guys. it has always been the lady. :)

  • A Fedora suits you, Ella.

  • RocketBoom is expandingg wee :)

  • wish i could visit nyc ...

  • Ella is so beautiful :)

  • See? You can look nice without looking like a slut!

  • Why a 2nd channel ? I like the variety of videos on the original channel, if it's molly, or the other talented girls, Idon't care

  • Work that hat, Ella! xD

Awesome video, if only I lived there D: <3

  • I'm filing nostalgic for rocketboom , ohh good old days

  • I wish there was a Rocketboom London.

  • Nice video Ella, but you need to slow your delivery down. If you feel like you're talking too slowly, you're probably hitting the right speed.

  • @conradvink Agree, specially for those non native in english.

  • Awesome, and very informative. Even if I've never watched an episode of Mad Men. Thanks Ella. :)

  • That's one classy looking chick!

  • The newly single Don Draper? Thanks for the spoiler!!! WTF!

  • The newly single Don Draper? Thanks for the spoiler!!! WTF!

  • nice video

  • GGgrrrrr.... Ella! You look so delicious in that outfit

  • @JosephCheetah - Says the half-man, half-cheetah.

  • i LOVE U

  • 1:58, first chick looks like she saw a hot dude, molly looks like she'd be on the shitter, ella looks like shes "happy time" and dude looks high XD

  • Rocketboom, you should do a segment on The Dakota.

When it was being built in the 1880's, people thought it was going to be a failure because living in apartments had yet to become a necessity for New Yorkers. So not only was it the first to make apartment life something more mainstream, but it simulatneously made it fashionable for the rich.

Plus, there's its list of famous inhabitants, such as John Lennon and *ahem* Yoko Ono. Yeah, that has segment written all over it!

  • you look beautiful.

i love the way you dance while you talk.

    congrats.

  • awesome video

  • DAT FEDORA

  • Congratulations! Classy!

  • I like your visual metaphor showing how the cramped RocketBoom is now branching into divisions, such as RocketBoomNYC.

  • Agh spoilers! I'm just finishing Series One, soooo behind...

  • Awesome, now I have a couple more places to visit when I hit NY!

  • Nicely done Ella! Love the symbolic ending!

  • I hate riding the subway, but I do love the Grand Central terminal.

Oh, also: Happy First Video on the New Channel!

  • love the dress, great choice for this piece

  • @thefranstastics Cheers! It's by a UK company called Glamour Bunny.

  • @ellamorton Would look great in a Gil Elvgren painting.

  • She is definitely a model and I love how smart she is even if she's just reading the script and looking good at the same time but it is nice to see parts of NYC I may not see for a while until I come back to NY

  • @MJG164 If I'm ever reading a script, it's a script I've written myself! That's just for voiceovers though. Usually episodes are not scripted.

  • @ellamorton Oh alright I apologize if I had offended you in any way I did not know how exactly rocketboom and you arranged your episodes

  • @MJG164 No worries! It's impossible to tell what goes on behind the scenes just by watching the videos.

  • like the channel change line up

  • Love her dress and the ending.

  • I loved this! There's always Art Deco of the Crysler Building or the Second Empire of the City Hall Post Office and Courthouse.

  • WOW that dress looks gorgeous

  • best so far

  • She looks good in the hat!

  • @Intransitman I thought it was a little bit Carmen Sandiego but didn't want to take it off!

  • @ellamorton Though some how you struck me as more like a young Lauren Bacall, with that hat.

  • @Intransitman She looks good in whatever she wears!

  • Tasty music and i LOVE the attitude. :)

NYC holds a special place in my heart.

"The shadows of the city belong to Vincent."

  • Good one, Ella. Great outfit, also!

  • One of your best, Ella.
