it's funny how today's videos don't have a feel of authenticity, something, an image or an idea is aimed at the viewer to convince him that is real. this one though, is just pure raw skateboarding letting the skating do the job. sorry for expressing my feelings publicly but the streets on fire video was and still is (to me anyways) pure californian feeling. skate hard and peace everyone.
Me & my brother had a huge 1/2 pipe in Murrieta in the late 80's & Jason used to come to our house & skate all the time. Fun to watch skate & a funny guy!
Had a pretty bad day & then I saw your Vid-Clip of "Streets on Fire", my mind drifted away back into all these god old(-school) Skateboarding-Days ... and now I've got a big smile on my face:-] ... So:
"THANK'S A LOT! my Italian(Sk8er)Bro', YOU SAVED MY DAY!!!".
PS: Greetz to all true Oldschool-Skater outta there from Oktoberfest-City (Munich).
More than 20 years later and this whole video still rips. Skating these days is super gnarly and all, but it doesn't have the soul that the 80s had. I'm so glad that I got to live it. Thanks for posting this - brings back great memories.
It's amazing how these sporatic videos of the golden age of Skateboarding brought so many people together. I also forgot how amazing the Santa Cruz Vids were at the time. I'll be posting a ramp jam from London Ontario from 1988-89 with Jason Jessee doing more baddass moves to the soundtrack of Johnny Cash, and some killer skaters from the Fishlips team in canada.. I'll post a reply to this vid soon PEACE thanks for posting these
Great music, great part, still skating still, listen to Bl'ast! My nephew is 12 and loves to skate. I feel it's a duty to show him these vids to learn the history of both the skating and the music.
I personally love the song, but I thinks it's a generational thing... it's post cold-war US punk rock. Given it's time-context, the song makes a lot more sense.
I'm not saying you should like it, I'm just saying it's kindv'e like how my elderly parents like "big band" swing music, and I can't tolerate it... mainly because I can't relate to it on any level.
It's called "Paranoid Chant" by the Minutemen just in case anyone decides to look it up. Cheers!
his grandma lived around the corner from us growin up in oc. everyone over there is like that. well, everyone we knew at least. wow, this is old, im 34 now, lol.
dude is straight up nuts, anyone catch him on monster garage, he showed up for 1 day of work disappeared, then came back when the ramp was done, fucking hilarious, jason is nasty though, someone gotta put salbas part from this video on

the minutemen do suck. its nothing more than personal preference. why do you even care what someone likes? more elitist little kid shit, coming from probably at middle adult.
Second song is called "Scream" by Black Flag off the album "My War". Its only a short clip of it in the middle, Its just screaming. Then it goes to the third and last song called "Surf and Destroy" by the band BL'AST off the Power of Expression Album. Killer album by the way
