Warcraft 3 was a good game, you just don't seem to like it because it had many things different from the originals. Guess what, times change, graphics change and features change.
& to top it off, i would say that about 95% of people that play WoW, dont even know that there is warcraft 1-3. I had few friends that played WoW awhile back and got into a argument with their guild leader about wc lore. WoW dosnt give anywhere near the amount wc lore, as if you just played wc3. He didnt even know that there were previous warcrafts. I schooled him with the real warcraft lore and told him to go buy wc1-wc3 if he wants to play a game that takes real skill & not just button mashing

I remember playing this, it scared the hell out of me but I kept playing, there was this one save file my dad saved, when he found out he was in a situation where he was fucked whatever he did, I kept replaying the save until I beat it, and when I finally did, I was pro at timing and macroing. It felt really empty inside to finally beat that save game. Then, years later I heard abouyt WC3, picked up the battle chest for laughs and giggles. My skills were back to shit tier. ;_;

Anyone agree with me that WCIII sucked compared to 1 and 2? Smaller amount of units, less defense. Recently I picked up DoW2, and it was the same thing, smaller amount of available units, smaller unit cap, less defense. It sux compared to DoW1.

I've been playing the SC2 beta. Unit supply is same as first game. 200. Most units still cost same supply amount. No upkeep shit to worry about either.

Im a giant Wacraft fan, Played this back in my days as a kid, Later on when I grew up, wWC3 and when tbc came, I started playing WoW, later i found al old WC1 crack and completed that too. Still the Music from WC32 is just.. epic, my favorite of all times. simply becouse it brings back so many awsome memories.
Loved this game and the world, only problem with the older games is that the resources went out pretty fast and this game was kinda unbalanced (units dies too fast etc.).
This game does have incredibly good soundtracks ; especially the Alliance tracks. How come such an old game is authorized to have such an amazing music (and gameplay, as well) ?!

The best "sound" aspect was during the actual game when there was no soundtrack - just the sounds of building and battle.
(Note: there may have been a soundtrack during the game, but I didn't hear anything because I probably had a crappy computer with a crappy sound card.)
Ah yes! These are the classic Warcraft II themes that I loved to hear while I played the campaigns. I truly enjoyed WCII as my favorite RTS of all time, followed closely by Starcraft and Tiberian Sun. WCIII was just too complex for me, maybe a sign of my impending old age. =P

Man, this is a game that I truly miss. I still have the game and its expansion and everything, but it won't run on my intel mac, unfortunately. I've tried to get Sheepshaver to work, but once I get ready to install the OS, it tells me the folder can't be created or something like that. Oh well, at least we have these videos at our disposal.
Now i remember this epic intro with a bunch of orcs comming near the humans castle. As a child i tought that there were only 3 humans to defend the whole castle XD

Word of advice: Don't try to correct someone with answers you're not sure of.
DosBox is an Emulator, it plays Dos roms, for example Warcraft 2.

This game was amazing. Absolutely the #1 game released that year. NO question.
It was the first RTS that was mutliplayer. And the multiplayer stuff actually worked pretty good compared to other stuff at the time.
Don't get me wrong..you still had to do all this modem command line bs...but it was a lot easier to do it in war2 than most other games.
And the game worked all clean. No glitches or crashes and all that. VERY awesome.

The best "sound" aspect was during the actual game when there was no soundtrack - just the sounds of building and battle.
(Note: there may have been a soundtrack during the game, but I didn't hear anything because I probably had a crappy computer with a crappy sound card.)

Ah yes! These are the classic Warcraft II themes that I loved to hear while I played the campaigns. I truly enjoyed WCII as my favorite RTS of all time, followed closely by Starcraft and Tiberian Sun. WCIII was just too complex for me, maybe a sign of my impending old age. =P

u just dont understand don't you? how did blizzard create wc3 huh? if it werent for wc1 and wc2? now tell me, is there "any" sea units in wc3 huh?, i dont think so. so i know that wc2 rocks bcoz it requires more strategy and it is not hero dependent, not like wc3...

Man, this is a game that I truly miss. I still have the game and its expansion and everything, but it won't run on my intel mac, unfortunately. I've tried to get Sheepshaver to work, but once I get ready to install the OS, it tells me the folder can't be created or something like that. Oh well, at least we have these videos at our disposal.
