@AndPlus i think you need to go to the clinic and get your ears checked for about 3 buckets of wax removal, as for barney and hooky still hating the sound on unknown pleasures you have just made that up, all the interviews on video etc show them they eventually realised it was perfect

@vinto34 if they did continue they would not have sold a record and joy division would be dead and buried by 1979, fortunately they did develop and improve, why are some idiots stuck in the most primitive punk new wave sound and dont like the great unknown pleasures and closer ? i think basically they do not have the intelligence to understand the higher art. it might wear off with age
@birdandthe I have both unknown pleasures and closer on cd and like the sound on both...they had to change from the punk sound for sure,then when ian died they evolved into new order and changed their sound again to suit the times...i think ian was tone deaf as alot of his vocals were out of tune,but their music sounded different to every other band at the time.
The best version of this is on Substance....and even better one on an old Peel sessions....if you can find it.........So much history in such a short span.

I feel like it sounds clearer and this version kicks ass, but its a close call between this and Unknown Pleasures version. The unknown pleasures has some better things it, this one's clearer and more retro punkish.
