Hello Mr. GrahamLaming, I would like to receive better information with details about their experience, what voltage and what equipment you used for general voltage, details. You used pure oil or WVO, you added caustic soda or the oil was pure, enlighten me please My email: americocandido@gmail.com Att

OK, this is great however, please clarify something. Have you already added the potassium etc or, is this process separating the glycerin without the "pot ash".
How much voltage will you require to separate the gylcerin in, for example, a 10 ton batch and would it still be safe to use electrostatic separation even with the presence of methanol in the solution?
Hey Graham! Thanks for putting a vid up of this process! I have a new processor based on your design ready to start brewing this weekend. Can't wait to use that venturi!
There is a hot topic of using sawdust as a filtration medium on several biodiesel forums currently. I plan on making a filtration column using dry sawdust here soon.
I would like to set this up in my biodiesel system. I am using plastic coned reactors. Can you tell me where I can buy one of the high voltage low current transformer from as I cant find one anywhere.
Make sure your voltage source is current limited to no more than 2mA.
If you do try it in a drum, make sure the drum is open, and that the electrodes and cables are completely submerged - you don't want any sparks above the liquid level.
I have ben making bio-d now for about 2 years and this is the first I have heard of this. I make around 200 Litres at a time. can you please provide me with some details on whether this would be viable to set up in my existing 200 litre (all be it steel drum) reactor? You mention the voltage req'd but what sort of current are you running?
Aren't you just heating the biodiesel?

Can you get the Glycerol out of Straight WVO using this method?

It is an RM215F-3 AC Breakdown tester.
Search google for suppliers.

Great video. Is is AC or DC ? What if the scale is larger, would it be same 2mA or more?

Hi, Agrisonic, I want to know where can I buy that machine, and whats the actual name of it, do we still need to clean the biodiesel with water??
And can we do this on a larger scale with the same Voltage and Amps showed on the video?
Thankss!! nice vide , and very interesting.

very cool, is that straight WVO? and if so, is washing necessary?
yes, i'm new to the biodiesel world.

No, this is raw biodiesel right out of the reactor. This process is to speed up the separation of the glycerol that is still in the biodiesel.

have you thought to use a neon transformer??

I have seen this used for water wash as well. Agitate the water/BD, current on, siphon the water precipitate, repeat.
Wash a batch in an hour or so.
