  • ...then Shack Up! Im dying here!

BTW; The name was always pronounced "HERCULOIDS" but spelled Herculords. That is still the best crew name ever!

"DJ Kool Herc and the Herculoids!" Brings back memories!

  • Cuttin' Space Funk! Wow!

  • I cant believe this was just done mixing vinyl......

  • Way ahead of its time .

  • @gustard33 You said it! Way-way-way AHEAD! Bust this: All of this was done on equipment/machines whose functions and usage were never made or intended for this use! It was both PURE ART & AVANT-GARDE intended to make change, and made expressly for the MASSES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @connor12477

say what? No. this started in 1973! Kool Herc! first block party, and Afrika Bambaataa organized Zulu Nation.

  • @connor12477

Yes my man, and the FIRST BREAKS spinnin by Herc (Clive Campbell) was:

''Give It Up Or Turnit Loose'' from James Brown 'Sex Machine' lp and

''Get Into Something'' by The Isley Brothers,

  • This was recorded in Galaxy 2000 not The Bronx River Centre

  • @soulful1illusion At least they made sure to call them the Hurculords and not Herculoids lol.

  • @psykick77 cool , not sure who that comment was aimed at but all ghood :)

  • @psykick77 no man, fake! Herculords was a name his soundsystems! Herculoids was a name his crew! That True! Check interviews with Herc!

  • Cut it up...!

  • real hip hop

  • Phase 2 was the cat who started what we know now as areosol art aka graffitti.

  • @connor12477

    no 1972, in 1973, Herc's first party!!!!

  • It was Kool DJ DEE in 1972....First block party..Bronxdale..

  • @BIGRICK1961

Was you there, this day? Whats happened?

  • @BIGRICK1961

Respect to Kool DJ Dee, but he did not started hip hop!Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa ...

  • Kool Herc had a style, Bam did, Flash did, Theodore did, Breakout did, AJ, Cold Crush did..it was a collective not singular piece that made the pie.

Kool DEE gave 1st block party not HERC, thats what Im saying and the 1st theme of the genre came from HARLEM, CHUCK CENTER..thats whats up for real...all the rest is what it is...not relevant....

  • @BIGRICK1961

    OK, I get it.

Kool DJ Dee was graffiin', breakin' in 70's?

  • Truth,Peace,HTP,

Tellem about its NOT 1973 with Kool Herc..its in Harlem @ Chuck Center than brought to the Bronx via the Black Spades parties in Bronxdale...Home of the 1st Division and Bx River Parties.

I see why Herc aint popping that BS no more..the Streets is TALKING...BTW Kool DJ DEE gave the 1st block Party in 1972...better ask somebody...

  • @BIGRICK1961

what Kool dj Dee made for hiphop... i know he inpired Bambaataa, an he had two turntables and mixer...but he made graffiti, breaking?

  • Truth,Peace,HTP,

Bambaataa wrote graffitti, Breaking @ Bronx River parties was legendary in the streets of the Bronx for the original form of break dancing. Now its interesting that Break dancing could be 1) Break part of record, 2) Break on another dude style wise with your best dance move.

Kool DJ DEE was inspired by Pete DJ JONES...who inspired MOST of the Legends...Kool DJ AJ, GM FLASH, Love BUG, Hollywood, MEAN GENE(GW THEODORES older brother), Disco KING MARIO...

  • @BIGRICK1961

hmmm...Was Bambaataa graffing on the train? he did any graff bomb?:)

  • Yes, BamBaataa wrote graffitti on the buses...the depot was not far from BX River...also tagged up here and there back in the day....so did Kool DJ AJ...AJ 161...AJ=ALL JIVE...

  • @BIGRICK1961

do you know, when Bam started graffiti?

  • Bam didnt start graffitti, he was a graffitti artist. I saw his tags as early as 1974. Graffitti tagging was credited with a cat named TAKI 183, from 183rd Street in the BX.

Bombing top to bottoms, look @ Style Wars, its a good complete history. Now the form that is most popular was started by KASE II, which is Wild Style, another good documentary.

  • So that think you?

  • no, 1973! Why1972?

  • It may be earlier than that, you know that Hip-Hop came from Dub music, right?
