How is it that before I started to love the big 4 bands and the underrated big 4 bands(EXODUS,DEATH ANGEL,OVERKILL,and TEASTAMENT) I liked to listen to rap and nu-metal. They proved with Magnetic that they still have the fire they had in the beginning. I'm sick of hearing kids who first heard Metallica after Load saying how "they suck now" when they have no fucking clue. Now that being said...This 89 show is still my favorite to date.

I like Cliff a lot, but if he had played this concert, they would sound sloppier, less energetic and the backing vocals would suck compared to these ones. Jason only made 1 thrash album with them, but that thrash album was by far their tightest and more technical. Respect to Cliff too

Purhaps, It hard for me to judge since the guy has been dead for like 20 years or so. But I still think that Cliff was way ahead any bassist i've ever seen, in terms of being a very talented bass player. And im not saying that Jason is a bad Bass player not at all. But in some points Cliff was just better. He was more skilled on a bass than Jeson but Jason had some things like you also said, he was an amazing backup vocalist and a bit more energetic :) So it is hard to compare the two

@math101a I've heard those a million times, none of them are that good. Jason wasn't allowed to do lead bass in songs because of Hetfield and Ulrich's narrow mindedness. Jason's lives solos were way better than Cliff's, so I think it's fair to say that if he was allowed to write lead bass in songs, he would have outshined Cliff.
