I hate Axis so much, how can charge that much for twin pedals? yes I am aware of the fact they are manufactured in the U.S and made of aluminum so that ups the price but honestly like $600 for twin pedals? companies like that are the reason consumers turn to china and Taiwan for cheaper, $250 Iron Cobras, which are almost as good but less than half the price.
ok first of all it did. and secound of all when your using a dw 7000 that was accidently left in the rain after a show and is rusted to hell then ya it is a problem. and if you can do everything u say u can do on the axis on a gibralter and play as clean, quick , and just over all as well then your not playing shit as fast as i am then. i dont know you but u dont know me either so why the fuck you talking shit, especially because your probably 13 and you think you know everything. if not my bad
If you want to save money, single peddles will be $150-$300 less than a double peddle. The drive shaft alone is about $100+parts. @Malice2297 the Demon Drives do convert to single, and they are the only peddles other than Axis that convert in about 5 minutes. However converting a Demon Drive to single defeats the purpose, because they have been designed specifically to give you a single peddle feel on on kick drum.
@darth420vader did they change it or something, its ben like forever since i first heard about them but when i did u couldnt switch em but thats kewl. but see my problem was that i wanted a double pedal that converts to single because i plan on gettin another kick drum. but at all the venues we play at they only have 1 kick mic so i wud have to use it as a double pedal at most shows. but i already got the axis. and i love em lol.
very helpful video but if you could possibly redo the video with the camera not being right up on the pedals. its kinda hard to see. but anyways its still helpful. im gonna buy these pedals just savin up so damn expensive. they are worth it though. ive played on em and theres such a big difference. ive got a shitty dw 7000 double pedal and it sucks ball. i was almost thinking of the new pearl demon drive their pretty impressive too but they dont convert to singles.
@Malice2297 If you have issues playing a dw7000, this pedal won't do anything for you. It is ALL about the player, NOT the equipment. I can take the most awful Gibralter pedal and do everything I can do on my Axis, and so can Roddy, George, etc.
I tried posting a comment, but couldnt see it afterwards,so i apologise if this comes as a double post.
Im curious to know if it would bebetter on the wallet to either buy a double outright or 2 singles and the brige expansion.I currently have a single bass drum kit and im planning on upgrading to a double and wanted to save as much money as i could and wanted to know what the netter option.
I think they're about the same price, I couldn't tell you exactly, but I think getting the double and changing it to two would be easier and probably cheaper
okay so check this out, i plan on buying an 8 piece sound percussion double bass drum set... so yeah it comes with two bases. i do plan on going with axis pedals... should i go with the axis double bass pedal so i can separate it and make two different pedals and if i ever want play on a single bass set which would be occasionally.. not rarely. or should i just buy two axis single pedals..? why?
If you're definitely sure that you're going to use a single pedal later, you should get a double because converting a double into 2 singles is easy, and the two singles I tried with my double pedal felt exactly the same as the two singles that I bought. The double pedal should feel similar. the slave pedal (left pedal) may feel weird as with most double pedals slave pedals do
@F990 is there away that i can buy two single axis pedals and then buy the shit later to make it a double bass pedal?? like the drive shaft and all that?
indeed there is sir, you can buy the drive shaft and the double bass pedal conversion kit. YOU MUST buy both of those because the double bass pedal kit comes with parts you NEED to make the double pedal work. I'm sure you know what the drive shaft does.
I want some suggestions , Im getting iron cobras in may , and till then i dont have any double pedals to practice on , I have a mapex M birch , and a mapex single pedal with it , and i want to practice till may , Can i convert a single pedal into a double as i have to save up for the iron cobras ?
no, there's only a select few pedals that convert singles into doubles. if you want to practice "double bass" type stuff with a single pedal, do certain exercises like fast singles with 1 foot (from like 165 bpm and up for leg motion, 210 and up for ankle motion) also practice quick 16th notes with 1 foot (kinda like a thrash beat (K=kick, S=snare) (K S KK S K S KK S) practice these exercises with both feet every day and you will see a great difference in your footwork :)
i have 2 seperate A- Longboards, and they were so crazy epic good that it destroyed my bass head on the medium setting. so i was wondering hom much the conversion kit is, cuz something tells me ill need it down the road
Remember, I left out one step. Your double pedal should come with another bass drum clamp to put on your second pedal. It should be easy to figure out, just look at the assembly for the main pedal clamp.
lol not that much sir, I got a job and worked my ass off to get all of this stuff really...a lot of the things you see on my sets are used as well. Some dumb girl from my school sold me the orange set for 300 bux...300 BUX!!! My monster kit is a hybrid of 2 NEW bass drums (expensive) and my old kit (got it at a garage sale) and all the cymbals are used and old basically
nice, one of my friends friends is selling me his barely used 7 piece pearl masters custom with trick pedals and 8 piece black alpha cymbal set for 500 bucks, lol
can you do that with iron cobras too?

they provide the other block for the left pedal incase you want to convert it for a left handed drum set up

why would you pay 600$ for the double pedal if your turn it into 2 single pedals? just buy 2 single pedals for half the price

In case you bought the double first and didn't want to spend another 400 dollars for two singles...
