I would have edited out the part where Billie Piper is kissing David Tennant with something else, because those of us watching know that's *not* actually Rose. I think it spoils the mood. But otherwise loved, loved, loved!
He/she probably used the DVDs and took parts from those DVDs and put them to music and put them here. That's just a thought. I don't really know how this was done.
I can say, however, that this was very well done. 5/5 and favorited. :)
I actually would have rather used the version from the film, the one sung by John Leguizamo, which is arguably darker, but this was the only version I had. But thank you for the comment.
@Sshelly34213 - Admittedly though, I think Doctor Who is reasonably dark, and therefore needs a darker version of the song to resonate the theme more strongly. The Moulin Rouge version of the song works brilliantly, whereas vids I've watched with the Nat King Cole just didn't have the right "feel" for Doctor Who. JMO.
I know, huh? The version used in the movie's WAY better. I found a video with the entire beginning song with the movie, but I can't find it no more );
I absolutely love this! Added it to my faves. Only change I'd makes is that I'd change the clip of the Doctor's sneakers to a teensy bit later in the song to the point where is says "He passed my way" But other than that, which is completely subjective, it is THE BEST fanvid of the Doctor that I have seen to date!!! 5 STARS!
i love it. by the way, does anyone know how to get video clips and make them into a music video, using a mac? And yes, I like the version off the movie better too.
Beautifully put together - I love how you carefully match the lyrics and mood of the song to the clips. I like the pace too - something slower, more thoughtful - fantastic!!
Kudos for another very fine video! I like how you put together the Doctor reading Madame Du Pompedore's (spelling???) letter with the page with the drawing of Rose from John Smith's book.
where did you find the clip with Rose and the Doctor at 1:35-1:40 Where the Doctor asked "How long are you going to stay with me?" And Rose replied "Forever."
out of curiousity. where did you get that clip of Rose and The Doctor inside the TARDIS before The Impossible Planet? I don't remember that being in the episode.
I the bit I think you're referring to - with the big red BBC box in the bottom left-hand corner? - is actually from a trailer that promoting Series Two. I love using clips from trailers. ^^ I used the same trailer in 'Everlong', as it's a good one to work with, aside from the big red box.. Very glad you enjoyed the video. That always makes my day.
The only other clip with Rose, the Doctor, and the TARDIS is from the start of AoG. I didn't use anything from 'The Impossible Planet' though.
yeah, that's exactly the one I was talking about. I hate that we don't get trailers like that over here. The only one i've seen for series two was on BBCAmerica recently and it was all from The Christmas Invasion.
Very nice work. I especially love how you splice together different shots of the Doctor from the cathedral scene in the Lazarus Experiment. Also, how you take the shot of him reading the letter from Girl in the Fireplace and intersplice it with the notebook. Awesome.
Incredible until the end; thought the clips from shakespeare code were out of place. I would have rather enjoyed a shot of him unmoving. during the actual song though, definitely the best fanvid I've ever seen.
Good video. I laughed when I saw you used the TGITF scene of him reading the letter and replaced it with him looking at Rose in the journal. Heh. Good stuff.
Dang! I don't usually go for music videos, but this was AWESOME! Now I have to go back and check out everything you've done - have you always been this good?
I like it...I don't mind this version of the song, actually, the darker quality lends an eeriness to the video that gives it a dramatic feel.

I personally think the acapella version by Don Mclean or the version by Nat King Cole would be a better choice, this one's just too dark.

@midcirclenine I always find that less is more, using, say an acapella version of this song would give the character an isolated, alienated feel.
