That would be Robert Krulwich of the program RadioLab, which is an excellent Infotainment program revolving around scientific topics. A bit like This American Life. He co-hosts it with Jad Abumrad. Robert IS a bit religious but he is also a very talented reporter and storyteller, I recommend checking out the podcast if possible.

What has joyousness to do with anything? Why does it have to be joyous? Facts are facts, truth is truth, reality is reality, it doesn't matter if you like it or not, if you find meaning in it or not, if it's satisfying or not, it just is. The human weakness to need to find purpose and meaning and comfort in things is our greatest downfall.

Too many people fall under the primitive thinking shower of "Oh that's not nice, so it's not true" or "that's not what I want to believe, therefore it's false".
We're the ones that give things meaning and purpose. We can give our own lives purpose, if we chose, or not. But reality is reality. End of.
