Second, I've always wondered why, using Rag Nagan's term, there are 'chocolate' cities and it seems that whites are afraid of them b/c they commit crimes which are half eventhough blacks are 15% of the US population.
I used to think that racism was always immoral but it just depends on the CIRCUMSTANCES. Since, one has attained/maintained his/her property, s/he is taking a RISK of it and his/her life by having a stranger invited by force.
The Jim Crow laws were Government Laws. The Government didn't take away a right because rights come from our humanity. They simply made it illegal to exercise a right by the sanction of the Government Gun.
@jonnyy40, Although people like to think "rights" have some kind of supernatural origin, the truth is rights come from the lawmakers we elect. The civil rights act created new rights and repealed existing rights under Jim Crow laws, just like George Will said.
@etsneroj No.They are natural rights by virtue of our nature as human beings.Nothing 'supernatural' about it.What comes out of my mouth is just as valid as what comes out of yours or anybody elses.
@jonnyy40, "What comes out of your mouth" is valid only to the extent that it is correct. In this case, you are incorrect. If rights were simply part of human nature (not a function of our culture or society but basically biological/instinctual) then one would expect most (if not all) societies on earth to recognize the same set of rights. Yet, the opposite is true. Rights vary dramatically in different societies. And soon you will see the emergence of new rights that never existed before.
First is Forever 21 a 'public accomodations'?
