Russia uses one because in the web comics he's always seen holding one. It's a reference to how Russian soldiers in WWII would take the pipes as trophies from their enemy's houses I think.

The weapon I modelled for Romano is based on the vacuum cleaner in Luigi's Mansion called the Poltergust 3000. The funny thing is that the one in Luigi's Mansion is based on the Ghostbusters one. lol at the chain of influence haha XD
