I had a base mode for this guy where he was kind of like the SDF-1...I do love this figure, I have both versions. They need to make a "new" version of this guy.
I think it would had been better if one of a ship could split in two parts and plug in megatron's feet, and if one over split in two and go on the arms, but it's a designer decision..(sorry for the english, I'm french)
Did you know that they have a Transformers video game that's based on Armada,and one of the bosses is Tidal Wave,and he's HUGE!You gotta attack his head to defeat him.He was hard,so I used a cheat code that kills enemies with one hit.
@TheSuperforestman I loved that game. There was actually an easy way to kill him. There was a spot where you had to climb a small mountain, shoot at his head and as he shot missiles at you, jump and glide away. Rinse and repeat.
@baltmatrix That game was great. Looked very pretty too, for a PS2 game. I enjoyed collecting the Minicons, those also looked cool and I always wished they had toys of them. I think some of them actually existed in toy form but I'm not sure.
I made the exact same two base modes when I first got this guy. Though you say that "nobody knows why" the seats exist, but it's a nod to the fact that the legs are a troop transport, so you're supposed to seat mini-cons into battle. But the use of them for a base is way better! 'v'

Well according to the instructions on the Hasbro website the ships are on the wrong arms. You must of got a different set of instructions to me as I have are the same as the ones on the hasbro website. Though it is hasbro we are talking about here so I wouldn't be suprised if you do.
@LuffyM19 Hate to say it but according to the directions on Hasbro's site the arms are, in fact, correct in my video. If you look at my figure the left arm of the toy is the one with the control tower and the right are is the one with the minicon storage area. That is exactly the same way the directions have it.
I believe the mini-con seats are just there for the uncombined ship. It would make sense seeing as the other two have mini-con gimmicks. This one just doesn't involve pegs. I like the idea of the base mode though.

The seats opening up is the gimmick for the vehicle used alone... It's a troop carrier... That's always seemed abundantly obvious to me.
