i did a gig playing alongside Grant's band yesterday, my band knows them, it was an awesome gig and for him to have complimented our performance after i had seen him doing this performance was quite something.

You're right, no one can sing Child in Time like Ian Gillan, and they still can't.

Why is he singing with an american accent? Deep Purple were a british heavy rock band, not an american crap metal band!

Dont hear where you get the American accent from. Gillan will always be the govenor.Purple were and still are the best rock band of all time,bar none. However,I still think for an 18 year old to tackle and pull off a song that not many would touch is amazing. Perhaps you had to be there. It was a fantastic night.
