Buy a used GT like I did an 06 with 3,000 miles,for $18,200,I put $8,700 into it with a supercharger ,headers ,exhaust,and cams,and I got me a power pony with 578 HP for "WAY" less then a new GT and a Shelby GT500.And better looking,I hate the new body style,especially the cheap ass plastic on the bottom sides and back,so weak looking. and the tailightgs too.05-09 are best body style.

The only problem I have with Mustangs is that they are a plain looking car and the interior feels super cheap compared to other sports cars. They don't even turn heads. The cheapest will always be the favorite and it has a weak resale value compared to other muscle cars. Growing up I knew 2 guys, 1 with the Camaro and the other with a Mustang. The Camaro always won when they raced, but not by much. Bottom line is when the 2010 Camaro pulls up, no one will even notice a 2010 Mustang!

It's not a pig if it can hold it's own next to the Mustang, and gets better MPG. You don't even notice the extra weight. It has IRS while the Mustang's live axle- which is lightweight, help it weight less, but the Mustang isn't as good in handling as the camaro because of it.

Ford is more reliable than GM or Chrysler, independent companies have tested this, Ford's up there with Toyota and Honda in reliability now. GM had to recall impalas a while back and they recently just put out another recall. Chrysler has always been shitty with reliability. The new mustang is barely slower than the camaro ss, put some bolt-ons with the saved money and you can smoke the ss easily, challenger is slowest.

Concepts equipped with the engine put out around 415 hp. These engines will eventually work themselves into the Mustang line in the next few years. Well, the Mustang GT is already priced dangerously close to the Camaro SS. And guys, don't kid yourselves. The Camaro will outperform the Mustang. Whichever one you buy is up to you, but don't be ignorant. If Ford does bring back a 'Boss' Mustang, it'll probably cost quite a bit more than the Camaro. And the GT500 costs just over $40K so I'm not sure how Ford is going to pull off a 5.0 Mustang. It doesn't make any marketing sense. I think they'll play it safe with the V6, GT, and GT500.

I've owned 6 Stangs. A 74, 78, 80, 85, 94, 00 and 06. I currently own the 06. I have been happy with every one of my Mustangs. I won't buy anything but a Ford. Yet avg fuel economy of 19city/28highway when I behave. Not a muscle car, but suprises the shit out of people when on the road.

According to the US Senate, who questioned the CEO of Ford- it's actually the SAME basic engine as what was used on the FORD MAVERICK back in the 70's- the main change being fuel injection. That's WHY it gets such poor real-world fuel economy ratings...
