You know you're a band geek when: you hear the horns of the Haradim (Oliphant riders) and say to yourself. "Now that's not the right curvature and size to produce that note..."

3:01 at this moment the king dun know how to deal with that such big creatures so he still order his men to refront the line then charge to the huge elephants and his men got fuked....from brave to fool not so far =.=

@daftrok The rohhirim did not ride there and attack thinking they would survive, they rode there to save gondor and keep the oliphants and orcs as far away from the burning city as possible.
God this part of the whole trilogy is my absolute favorite to watch!! Just epic; outnumbered badly and yet the Rohhirrim just slam straight into Sauron's forces and just start cutting through them with no mercy. But damn, every time it comes around to the Haradrim showing up on their war beasts, that shit gets so epic it's ridiculous! Emotionally moving, and that's good movie making right there!
Whenever I watch LOTR I wish i could go back and watch them in the cinema again :P it was just so epic , and of course seeing the film for the first time was amazing - also the bit when the Haradrim arrive at 2:40 is probably one of the most epic bad guy entrances of all time heheh .. quality
@Harvidz It primal instinct, plus when you have films, songs and stories like these that make wars and battle seem glorious, people can't help but like them.
why didn't they go around the oliphants is something I don't understand... most epic battle scene ever, but surely there was a cleverer tactic than just running straight at them...
@Hama8382 i totall agree but u have to remember, this is a trilogy full of epic battles and it wouldnt be that epic if they just went around the oliphants :P
@afatmeanguy That's true although I disagree can you imagine trying move an army of 6000 horsemen around a herd of giant oliphants, while at the same time staying in formation and continueing the attack on the rest of the orc army? No you can't since its not possible, since the lager the army the harder and longer it takes to maneuver. Besides even if they did, they would have the oliphants on their flank or rear and be stuck between 2 enemy forces, leaving them worse off than b 4.

Besides even if they somehow did, then they would have the oliphants on their flank or rear and be stuck between 2 enemy forces, leaving them in a even worse situation.
@Lightingwarrior The orcs where pretty much already scattered and routing, the rohhirim charging finished them off and obliverated the orcs morale. I wouldnt really worry about an army that has already lost way over half their troops. even with the oliphants, sooner or later they would also get routed, no madder how big they are.
@TheSillyJimmy I think your missing the fact of how big this army was, even though the right wing of the army had been scattered, they still had plenty more forces to call up from the rear and the left flanks, not to mention the forces inside the city. Hence when the Harad oliphants enaged the Rohirrim, they also gave the orc army time to reform and counterattack, which is shown as the battle dragged on between the Rohirrim and Harad forces.
@Lightingwarrior Well, maybe since king theoden and the rohirrim where so incredibly epic in the charge, the orcs and handirim weren't able to fight as well and subdue them, obviously, jeez. ;)
@TheSillyJimmy Hey I'm just saying, I'm not trying to take anything away from the Rohirrim they are one of the best people in LOTR, second only to the elves, since Rohan did a lot more damage to Sauron forces than Gondor. In fact the Rohirrim charge is my favourite scene out of all the LOTR movies, it was beyond epic.
@Naafalilargus Hey well it was the elves that led the fight against the evil forces in the the first and age and they shared an equal part of the fight in the second age. Plus the elves fought Saurons master Morgoth during the first age, hence that counts for a lot. Besides the reason why the elves did not take a bigger role was because most of the had left middle-earth.
The hilarious thing is that as soon as you the "Fire at will" you know "Ok everyone, you better just shoot as many as you can because there is no chance that we can stop them XD"
@aDarkNightsky I'm not saying that they were, since personally I think the Rohirrim were seriously ballsy for doing it. I was just saying that it doesn't take simple courage to take a mumakil head-on, you can be simply crazy and suicidal.
LOTR is the modern Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid. Thats why i loved reading the books. Tolkein red these stories also and they inspired him to write the Hobbit and LOTR. All are great reads and I urge everbody to read them. If only Achilles was in this war haha.
@themenaceanish Only if you really like constant, unrelenting and over the top fighting and an almost childly cartoonish way of story telling then yes I guess 300 is better than all three of these movies. I bet you like Waterworld too.
@me700gnomes Never seen waterworld. But lord of the rings is childish shit like twilight, The Empire Strikes Back alone is better than all of these shitty elf movies put together.
At least stuff happens in the Star Wars movies. What do they do in these retarded lord of the rings movies? Run around in three movies to reach a 'climatic' ending where it involves throwing some stupid ring down a volcano LMFAO!
@themenaceanish Clearly, you are blind. As a Star Wars Fan myself, i think you are wrong. The Star Wars films are clearly as good as Lord of the Rings. If you would stop being a ignorant idiot, you might actually appreciate these films. Besides, i think Star Wars films are becoming a bit more childish. I.e (Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network)
@themenaceanish That's your misinformed opinion, I could say the same about Star Wars, listening to 2 hours of shitty dialog to see 20 minutes of action that includes a stupid talking computer and some ugly monster. Starwars was 3 movies too many.
@themenaceanish I agree with @safatheman94. The scripting in this movie is amazing, mostly taken raw from Tokien's masterpieces. This trilogy is full of Action, Epic battle scenes, and brilliant acting.
The Starwars films decline the newer they are. A New Hope is the only decent one, and it's not that great. All of the actors careers have crashed, apart from Harrison Ford.
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (3 films) : 17 Oscars All up
@OliByGolly1 Are you fucking serious? A New Hope is awesome, the greatest opening of any movie trilogy ever. The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the Star Wars movie and beats the awesome A New Hope. The Empire Strikes Back is easily one of the greatest movies of all time, period. It destroys all the elf movies put together.
@themenaceanish It truly doesn't. You are clearly a die hard Star Wars fan, and you will not accept the fact that (in your mind) the Best Star wars film, Empire Strikes back was really, not that great a film compared to all the LotR films.
'Best Star Wars Film' - Empire Strikes Back (1980) 2 Oscars
'Best LotR Film' - Return of the King (2003) 11 Oscars *Most for any movie ever*
@OliByGolly1 LMFAO! You really think the Oscars are the be all an end all for deciding what the best movie is? XD Yeah, the Oscars are so great at judging movies that they didn't nominate Christopher Nolan last year for Best Director and thought that some obscure English movie was better than Inception lol! The Oscars are right into thinking that Titanic was the best movie of 1997 looool!
@Lightingwarrior No it doesn't. LOTR is trash. Elves and people with swords and sticks? LOL! Star Wars is set in space with lightsabers and ships with lasers. Star Wars eats up LOFT and spits it back out.
@themenaceanish Dude your just asking for everyone here to turn on you, no-one going to support here. Besides Lord of the Rings made more money worldwide than either the orginal star wars trilogy or the prequels. It made 2,917,506,956, while the orginal made 1,788,879,251 and prequels 2,422,470,654
@Lightingwarrior LOL! Those figures would be far smaller back in 1977. Add to the fact that not many people in the US saw the LOTR. Those elf movies made far more money outside of America. Here no one cares. In fact Star Wars is the 4th highest grossing movie of all time domestically. Star Wars is FAR bigger than LOTR here in America. No one gives a shit about some stupid elves and retarded wizards with long sticks lmfao!
@themenaceanish The only reason why star wars is higher in gross pay is because star wars has 6 movies and LOTR has 3 and the fact that it is higher can easily change with the Hobbit part 1 and 2 coming out where they would had further gross to LOTR.
@themenaceanish Also LOTR has been nominated for 451 awards (30 of which were Academy Awards) and won 247 awards (17 of which were Academy Awards) where the last film is 1 of only 3 films to ever win 11 Academy Awards. Star wars has be nominated for 25 Academy Awards and it has won 10 Academy Awards and none of the newer ones have even won any of these awards nor have any of the films won as many awards as the last LOTR film.
@themenaceanish Among all thing you'd come up with, you chose the ''retarded wizz with longs sticks'' ? seriously ? Yoda fits the description perfectly, just saying >_>
I don't really see the point in arguing over SW/LotR, both fantasy, both cloak and dagger type of thing. Set in different times and background but remain the same scheme afterall.
@themenaceanish being a huge fan of both franchises, I think it's hilarious that a Star Wars fan is dissing LOTR. you're just a big nerd no matter which one you like. "stupid elves and retarded wizards with long sticks" ....hmmm not really. but since you're going to be ignorant, 2 can play this game. 'No one gives a shit about overgrown yodeling guinea pig and an old gremlin that can't speak english properly.' (this does not reflect my opinions, I'm just showing you it goes both ways)
@OliByGolly1 in my opinion You can not compare these two films by adopting a one criterion its sci fi and fantasy i would rather say that i prefer more fantasy than sci fi
they need to rerelease this in 3D.

LOTR is the modern Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid. Thats why i loved reading the books. Tolkein red these stories also and they inspired him to write the Hobbit and LOTR. All are great reads and I urge everbody to read them. If only Achilles was in this war haha.

300 is way better than these overrated shit movies.
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Only if you really like constant, unrelenting and over the top fighting and an almost childly cartoonish way of story telling then yes I guess 300 is better than all three of these movies. I bet you like Waterworld too.
me700gnomes 1 month ago 2
@me700gnomes Never seen waterworld. But lord of the rings is childish shit like twilight, The Empire Strikes Back alone is better than all of these shitty elf movies put together.
At least stuff happens in the Star Wars movies. What do they do in these retarded lord of the rings movies? Run around in three movies to reach a 'climatic' ending where it involves throwing some stupid ring down a volcano LMFAO!
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Clearly, you are blind. As a Star Wars Fan myself, i think you are wrong. The Star Wars films are clearly as good as Lord of the Rings. If you would stop being a ignorant idiot, you might actually appreciate these films. Besides, i think Star Wars films are becoming a bit more childish. I.e (Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network)
Guano452 1 month ago
@themenaceanish That's your misinformed opinion, I could say the same about Star Wars, listening to 2 hours of shitty dialog to see 20 minutes of action that includes a stupid talking computer and some ugly monster. Starwars was 3 movies too many.
safatheman94 1 month ago
@safatheman94 Sorryn dude, I would much rather watch the Star Wars prequels than this prehistoric garbage.
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish I agree with @safatheman94. The scripting in this movie is amazing, mostly taken raw from Tokien's masterpieces. This trilogy is full of Action, Epic battle scenes, and brilliant acting.
The Starwars films decline the newer they are. A New Hope is the only decent one, and it's not that great. All of the actors careers have crashed, apart from Harrison Ford.
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (3 films) : 17 Oscars All up
vs
Star Wars Trilogies (6 films): 8 Oscars All up
OliByGolly1 1 month ago 24
@OliByGolly1 Are you fucking serious? A New Hope is awesome, the greatest opening of any movie trilogy ever. The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the Star Wars movie and beats the awesome A New Hope. The Empire Strikes Back is easily one of the greatest movies of all time, period. It destroys all the elf movies put together.
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish It truly doesn't. You are clearly a die hard Star Wars fan, and you will not accept the fact that (in your mind) the Best Star wars film, Empire Strikes back was really, not that great a film compared to all the LotR films.
'Best Star Wars Film' - Empire Strikes Back (1980) 2 Oscars
'Best LotR Film' - Return of the King (2003) 11 Oscars *Most for any movie ever*
OliByGolly1 1 month ago
@OliByGolly1 LMFAO! You really think the Oscars are the be all an end all for deciding what the best movie is? XD Yeah, the Oscars are so great at judging movies that they didn't nominate Christopher Nolan last year for Best Director and thought that some obscure English movie was better than Inception lol! The Oscars are right into thinking that Titanic was the best movie of 1997 looool!
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Sorry dude but I'm with OliByGolly1 and safatheman94. LOTR rules
Lightingwarrior 1 month ago
@Lightingwarrior No it doesn't. LOTR is trash. Elves and people with swords and sticks? LOL! Star Wars is set in space with lightsabers and ships with lasers. Star Wars eats up LOFT and spits it back out.
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Dude your just asking for everyone here to turn on you, no-one going to support here. Besides Lord of the Rings made more money worldwide than either the orginal star wars trilogy or the prequels. It made 2,917,506,956, while the orginal made 1,788,879,251 and prequels 2,422,470,654
Lightingwarrior 1 month ago
@Lightingwarrior LOL! Those figures would be far smaller back in 1977. Add to the fact that not many people in the US saw the LOTR. Those elf movies made far more money outside of America. Here no one cares. In fact Star Wars is the 4th highest grossing movie of all time domestically. Star Wars is FAR bigger than LOTR here in America. No one gives a shit about some stupid elves and retarded wizards with long sticks lmfao!
themenaceanish 1 month ago
@themenaceanish The only reason why star wars is higher in gross pay is because star wars has 6 movies and LOTR has 3 and the fact that it is higher can easily change with the Hobbit part 1 and 2 coming out where they would had further gross to LOTR.
Lightingwarrior 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Also LOTR has been nominated for 451 awards (30 of which were Academy Awards) and won 247 awards (17 of which were Academy Awards) where the last film is 1 of only 3 films to ever win 11 Academy Awards. Star wars has be nominated for 25 Academy Awards and it has won 10 Academy Awards and none of the newer ones have even won any of these awards nor have any of the films won as many awards as the last LOTR film.
Lightingwarrior 1 month ago
@themenaceanish Among all thing you'd come up with, you chose the ''retarded wizz with longs sticks'' ? seriously ? Yoda fits the description perfectly, just saying >_>
I don't really see the point in arguing over SW/LotR, both fantasy, both cloak and dagger type of thing. Set in different times and background but remain the same scheme afterall.
TheHvkCorp 1 month ago
