Wouldn't that simply mean that a man who 'feels' like a woman doesn't really feel like a woman, he feels the way a woman 'should' feel according to gender stereotypes.
For example, a lot of transwomen say that they knew they were girls from a very young age because they liked to play with Barbies and wear dresses etc. But that doesn't MEAN anything, those things are only considered girlie because of conditioning.
All schools should have unisex bathrooms and schools should allow students to start gsas and discuss trans issues... i go through everyday being bullied... they love making fun of me because i am the only trans kid in our school. and as a result they make fun of my girlfriend too. she says it doesnt bother her but i see the pain in her eyes. she isn't necessarily ashamed of me but she is hurt because of what i am... i just want it to stop.

Honestly I think ALL restrooms should be unisex, b/c when you have a straight married couple and one spouse is handicap and the other spouse has to help them when they need to go to the restroom, it's VERY hard to go out in public. This was the case with my grandma and grandpa, my grandpa got to where he needed help in the restroom and my grandma could NOT of course go in and help him. In the new biology school books in France, it is explained that you're born male or female but that your "sexual identiy" (your gender) isn't defined by biology. They explain that gender is built over other things than just what is between your legs. That is, in my opinion, a great step forward in our culture. I think the reason theres no trans option on aplications, or trans bathrooms, because thats the point of trans people going through the transition, 9 times out of 10 after someone has gone through their transition, theyre gonna wanna live stealth, and if they're filling out applications saying they're trans, using gender nuetral bathrooms and flaunting it, then everyone knows and they cant happily live the life as the male or female they wish to be seen as. just saying (:
but the people going through the transition won't completely look like their preferred or previous gender and get uncomfortable or discriminated, etc. and there are also people who don't identity with either gender, like genderqueer, gender benders, genderless, etc and it's uncomfortable for them to have to choose one or the other! it is also sometimes difficult to tell which gender androgynous people fall under and will get discriminated against or bullied, etc!

In wal-mart they have a gender nutril bathroom it is called the family bathroom. As far as my gender I was borne male I do not feel I am female though I am transgendered. I feel I am mentaly both.

What you're refering to reminds me of the 1974 study on PSYCHOLOGICAL ANDROGINY... According to that study, I now see myself (male heterosexual) as slightly more feminine than masculine (ex: I cooperate, am more passive agressive, romantic, etc than you'd expect of male stereotypes) Feminine to androgynous women attract me. Masculine stereotypes repel me, whather male or female. I've been psychologically attached to a few males but not sexually. I do feel misunderstood... and that's okay... :)

idk about the third bathroom thing, and I think it might get abused and used for sexual purposes. Rather I think every bathroom should be made neutral, with more stalls. Maybe add a urinal in each, then the bathroom thing wont be such an issue.

I have not had a problem in the bathroom since I stopped wearing my "I'm tranny" t-shirt. The funnest thing it that I face far more discrimination for being trans for gays and lesbians then straight people. All schools should have unisex bathrooms and schools should allow students to start gsas and discuss trans issues... i go through everyday being bullied... they love making fun of me because i am the only trans kid in our school. and as a result they make fun of my girlfriend too. she says it doesnt bother her but i see the pain in her eyes. she isn't necessarily ashamed of me but she is hurt because of what i am... i just want it to stop.

Honestly I think ALL restrooms should be unisex, b/c when you have a straight married couple and one spouse is handicap and the other spouse has to help them when they need to go to the restroom, it's VERY hard to go out in public. This was the case with my grandma and grandpa, my grandpa got to where he needed help in the restroom and my grandma could NOT of course go in and help him. So really all places should have about 3 unisex restrooms. What is so gender-sacred about a toilet anyway

In the new biology school books in France, it is explained that you're born male or female but that your "sexual identiy" (your gender) isn't defined by biology. They explain that gender is built over other things than just what is between your legs. That is, in my opinion, a great step forward in our culture. The only bad thing is that politicians from right wing are obviously trying to get these books deleted from our schools.

I think the reason theres no trans option on aplications, or trans bathrooms, because thats the point of trans people going through the transition, 9 times out of 10 after someone has gone through their transition, theyre gonna wanna live stealth, and if they're filling out applications saying they're trans, using gender nuetral bathrooms and flaunting it, then everyone knows and they cant happily live the life as the male or female they wish to be seen as. just saying (:

What you're refering to reminds me of the 1974 study on PSYCHOLOGICAL ANDROGINY... According to that study, I now see myself (male heterosexual) as slightly more feminine than masculine (ex: I cooperate, am more passive agressive, romantic, etc than you'd expect of male stereotypes) Feminine to androgynous women attract me. Masculine stereotypes repel me, whather male or female. I've been psychologically attached to a few males but not sexually. I do feel misunderstood... and that's okay... :)

I have not had a problem in the bathroom since I stopped wearing my "I'm tranny" t-shirt. The funnest thing it that I face far more discrimination for being trans for gays and lesbians then straight people. I'm also a lesbian and I need to be in the closet in the lesbian community because as soon as they find out I was once male they want nothing to do with me, even if there were no problems in bed before they find out(post op, no one can tell even if your naked)

Why do people chose anything? Because they perceive the benefits to outweigh the concequences.
