the only problem with pryor is that he does not have the arm to make it in the pros. his back up, joe bauserman, was a professional baseball pitcher. he has the arm and is a smarter decision-maker overall, pryor has the speed.

Terrelle Pryor will be a great NFL QB. TP has the size and strength of Roethlisberger and Josh Freeman, with blazing speed. He's also a three-year starter with a 31-4 record. He's already used to being hated on. So he's ready for the haters on the NFL level. If he rips up the Sugar Bowl, he will show everyone -- especially Kiper and McShay - that he is the best QB prospect for the NFL draft.
I dont kno if TP will be a starter in the NFL but I dont think he would have any shot at staying in the league if he went to Michigan and played for RichRod. I think Tressel was the only coach who said "I will help you be more than a running QB". That wasn't going to happen at Mich, at Oregon, at LSU, or any other school that would have said "Ok, ur the 6 foot 6 Pat White". Pryor still needs work but wut junior QB doesn't? He said he's staying as a senior? Good for him.

Georgia Tech---Really something to brag about. When has Iowa ever played a real good team like a Miami 10 years ago? Or Florida, LSU, USC, Alabama, in a major bowl game? Iowa has a better record against the SEC than the Buckeyes but its a just a TAD bit different playing them in the Outback Bowl than playing them in a BCS game or national championship.
Why knock the Buckeyes? The Buckeyes at least have a winning record in bowl games played since the Big 10 started going downhill 7-8 years ago. And all of those except for 1 were BCS games. How has the rest of the Big 10 done in bowls the last 7-8 years? The Buckeyes winning bowls hid the fact that the conference went downhill 3-4 years BEFORE the country started knocking the Big 10 as a joke. If the rest of the conference didnt step up, the Big 10 wouldve been exposed eventually anyway.

pryor made a huge mistake by going to osu. if he had gone to oregon he could have been the second coming of dennis dixon, instead hes athletic qb in the wrong system. osu sucks dick at utilizing their skill players. he went to osu to have a chance at playing qb in the pros but now in their system he isnt even a great college player

Michigan doesn't run a system in Ann Arbor that develops pro quarterbacks. Tressel's offense is built with elements of a pro style attack. That doesn't necessarly mean Pryor is going to be talented enough to make it as an NFL quarterback (ditto Troy Smith) but the system is built around developing that type of player.
Don't get me wrong; I am a Buckeye fan myself but what great great quarterback has OSU ever produced? I'm still pulling for Troy and Terrelle. They'd be our first successful qb's in the pros.

The game was won fair and square, in OT there was contact made on 4th and goal which could have been one of 2 penalties, either defensive holding or pass interference, and the interference was called, and everyone agrees it was the right call. And to be honest that game should have never gone to overtime because Ohio State got hosed late in the 4th. Yes, Ohio State embarrassed themselves against Florida but not against LSU or Texas.

Ok first of all recruiting is part of coaching college. If kirk ferentz cant get guys to come to Iowa then its his fault. As far as jim tressel cant coach you dont really know shit. When he came to OSU they were coming off back to back 6-6 seasons. He took the team his 2nd year to a national championship when no one thought they would even win their conference that year! I think some people are forgetting that pryor was supposed to be the best overall scrambling qb in the country coming in... so how can you compare him to robinson? Pryor is a BUST. You might as well admit it now, it will save you a lot of heartache in the future... Yeah robinson's fast but obviously has zero accuracy and was never touted as even a good passer, just pure speed.

The difference between Young and Pryor is that Young could win football games...He did not make dumb plays and try to force the ball to a receiver. He knew when to throw the ball away and take a sack. Sure its understandable to say they are at the same athletic ability but not situational thinking levels. It is tough to see Pryor lead about one good drive against a team like Wisconsin.
I will agree with du30ke. Talent level, I think Terrel has limitless natural ability, but situationally speaking, as a qb, he doesnt have it. His lack of development is what is most concerning. Same mistakes, again and again. Today against purdue was shameful. Wouldnt be too surprised to see him benched if the ohio st. season continues to regress the way it has.
He's in college, he should be learning... what are they teaching him? He;s not humble at all and he doesnt appear to be very smart, either. Being a QB id rather have more intelligence than skill. He is playing off raw talent, and I think theyre gonna end up putting him at another position.

wow your right. the buckeyes 10 class isnt even in the top 20 on rivals anymore. They were right around the top 10 the last time i checked. The class is hurt the most by the n/a rating (not rated yet) for this Chad Hagan guy who recently committed. Nothing else changed, so im assuming he counts as 0 and thats why they dropped a lot. And the bucks only have a 1 or 2 star in the class too, but hes a kicker and you gotta get a kicker every few years.
Hagen is a 3 star tops, he didn't even get an offer from PSU or Pitt and he is from Pa. Still they are counting Jamel Turner still so you have to take away another recruit for that list, as he will end up at a Military school if anyplace. I doubt you get many of those recruits you named...if any, as those guys are on everyones list still.
dont forget the Buckeyes are in the running for quite a few undecided top 2010 players---Seantrel Henderson, Lamarcus Joyner, Corey Brown, Jordan Hicks, Josh Shaw, Chaz Green, etc. doubt 10 be as good as last few classes (limit is 15 recruits instead of 20-25) but i wouldnt be surprised by a top 10 or at least right around it.

I dont kno if TP will be a starter in the NFL but I dont think he would have any shot at staying in the league if he went to Michigan and played for RichRod. I think Tressel was the only coach who said "I will help you be more than a running QB". That wasn't going to happen at Mich, at Oregon, at LSU, or any other school that would have said "Ok, ur the 6 foot 6 Pat White". Pryor still needs work but wut junior QB doesn't? He said he's staying as a senior? Good for him.

The big ten did rep good this year finally....PSU did great, surprisingly OSU won a bowl game finally, and Iowa completely demonlished a running attack people thought couldn't be stopped...as far as the "U" is concerned, i'll give you winslow, mcgahee, Johnson, and Sean Taylor...antrelle rolle wasn't a starter and i just don't think vilma was that great then...and the loss of Ginn in that game wasn't your problem, Troy smith was your problem...

Georgia Tech---Really something to brag about. When has Iowa ever played a real good team like a Miami 10 years ago? Or Florida, LSU, USC, Alabama, in a major bowl game? Iowa has a better record against the SEC than the Buckeyes but its a just a TAD bit different playing them in the Outback Bowl than playing them in a BCS game or national championship.

Why knock the Buckeyes? The Buckeyes at least have a winning record in bowl games played since the Big 10 started going downhill 7-8 years ago. And all of those except for 1 were BCS games. How has the rest of the Big 10 done in bowls the last 7-8 years? The Buckeyes winning bowls hid the fact that the conference went downhill 3-4 years BEFORE the country started knocking the Big 10 as a joke. If the rest of the conference didnt step up, the Big 10 wouldve been exposed eventually anyway.

pryor made a huge mistake by going to osu. if he had gone to oregon he could have been the second coming of dennis dixon, instead hes athletic qb in the wrong system. osu sucks dick at utilizing their skill players. he went to osu to have a chance at playing qb in the pros but now in their system he isnt even a great college player

You're a dumbass. Not taking anything away from Oregon, but he would never throw the ball there. Masoli shit the bed yesterday through the air, and everyone saw it. Yeah, Pryor is athletic as fuck and would be great there, but like Orbital2 said, Tressel's offense is geared towards elements with a style of a pro QB.
Just look at the game yesterday- the mother fucker threw for over 150 in the first half alone. He has the capabilities and the skill- that's all the NFL is looking for.

Michigan doesn't run a system in Ann Arbor that develops pro quarterbacks. Tressel's offense is built with elements of a pro style attack. That doesn't necessarly mean Pryor is going to be talented enough to make it as an NFL quarterback (ditto Troy Smith) but the system is built around developing that type of player.

The game was won fair and square, in OT there was contact made on 4th and goal which could have been one of 2 penalties, either defensive holding or pass interference, and the interference was called, and everyone agrees it was the right call. And to be honest that game should have never gone to overtime because Ohio State got hosed late in the 4th. Yes, Ohio State embarrassed themselves against Florida but not against LSU or Texas.

still dont see how loosing the national championship game or loosing to any team ranked in the top 10 is a choke loss... Last drive against Texas was a clutch performance by one of the best quarterbacks to play the position in college. And there is no way you can say that the 02 Thug U was not one of the best teams they've ever fielded.. that team was filled with studs at just about every position. Ok first of all recruiting is part of coaching college. If kirk ferentz cant get guys to come to Iowa then its his fault. As far as jim tressel cant coach you dont really know shit. When he came to OSU they were coming off back to back 6-6 seasons. He took the team his 2nd year to a national championship when no one thought they would even win their conference that year! Ferentz is a great coach but dont hype him like he is some legend Iowa is only relevant every 3-4 yrs.

that is false. Tressel wants him to run, but Pryor always wants to try and prove he can throw. Notice against Penn State and Iowa he stopped throwing so much. Then against Michigan he threw more but ran alot in the second half.

I think some people are forgetting that pryor was supposed to be the best overall scrambling qb in the country coming in... so how can you compare him to robinson? Pryor is a BUST. You might as well admit it now, it will save you a lot of heartache in the future... Yeah robinson's fast but obviously has zero accuracy and was never touted as even a good passer, just pure speed.

The difference between Young and Pryor is that Young could win football games...He did not make dumb plays and try to force the ball to a receiver. He knew when to throw the ball away and take a sack. Sure its understandable to say they are at the same athletic ability but not situational thinking levels. It is tough to see Pryor lead about one good drive against a team like Wisconsin.

I will agree with du30ke. Talent level, I think Terrel has limitless natural ability, but situationally speaking, as a qb, he doesnt have it. His lack of development is what is most concerning. Same mistakes, again and again. Today against purdue was shameful. Wouldnt be too surprised to see him benched if the ohio st. season continues to regress the way it has.

He's in college, he should be learning... what are they teaching him? He;s not humble at all and he doesnt appear to be very smart, either. Being a QB id rather have more intelligence than skill. He is playing off raw talent, and I think theyre gonna end up putting him at another position.

They aren't teaching him how to read defenses or make progressions I can tell you that. Maybe they are and he is just too dumb to figure it all out. Im not quick to call someone dumb, but after his play, and his comments about Vick. I think dumb is a good word to be used.

Im not even an Ohio st. fan, but I watch him play and see highlights ans im not impressed. Sooner or later he will realize he isnt in high school and cant make every play with his feet or on desperation and start really learning the system. Until then, Im afraid it will be the same.

Yeah our D let us down but you know what pissed me off the most. The fact that they were saying Barkely won it for them. IDK what game they were watching but McKnight ran all over the D on the final drive

wow your right. the buckeyes 10 class isnt even in the top 20 on rivals anymore. They were right around the top 10 the last time i checked. The class is hurt the most by the n/a rating (not rated yet) for this Chad Hagan guy who recently committed. Nothing else changed, so im assuming he counts as 0 and thats why they dropped a lot. And the bucks only have a 1 or 2 star in the class too, but hes a kicker and you gotta get a kicker every few years.

Hagen is a 3 star tops, he didn't even get an offer from PSU or Pitt and he is from Pa. Still they are counting Jamel Turner still so you have to take away another recruit for that list, as he will end up at a Military school if anyplace. I doubt you get many of those recruits you named...if any, as those guys are on everyones list still.

dont forget the Buckeyes are in the running for quite a few undecided top 2010 players---Seantrel Henderson, Lamarcus Joyner, Corey Brown, Jordan Hicks, Josh Shaw, Chaz Green, etc. doubt 10 be as good as last few classes (limit is 15 recruits instead of 20-25) but i wouldnt be surprised by a top 10 or at least right around it.
