I'm still trying to forget the trauma of having windows 95, with AOL as my ISP on a 56K modem.... My Mom was always "Get of the computer, I wanna use the phone!!!" and i'd say... "Just 5 minutes..." which turned out to be 30 or more.... AOL was not that bad, they were good to me, I was giving 2 free tickets, no strings attached to Six Flags, just for been a customer... I took my then girlfriend now wife whom by the way, met on a AOL chat room. Months later I moved on to DSL, now Cable...
@ThrenodyHate yes but why not go for some good old wired connection? Use Ad-Hoc, or use an ethernet cable and bridge the network from one that has internet to the other that needs the internet. Or be less neardy and buy a friggin router!
wow. a girl who is 23 never heard a modem before?? IM 23 and i was the one fixing the modems at my school granted it was because i was always in detention,
Nostalgia.... almost gave me a tear listening to this....before realized how modem can piss you off sometimes when you get cut offline, due to someone calling you or some idiot picked up the fone just when you download something "big" as 2mb! :D
i read a majority of the comments earlier and realized that there are plenty of people who did it. if i tried it, knowing me, my phone would ring and I would think: What the hell is that noise?
Sounds like being in high school....ooo, I'm about to get porn pics in AOL pic chatrooms and talk to teen girls across the country about sex!! Aw, mom, hang up the phone! You disconnected me!
I remember waking up with this sound to my mom and dad using the internet and makin coffee. The crows would sing their terrible toddler melodies in the morning through the pine tree with sun glistening off the dew. I would then lazily scratch my head, yawn and look out the window to meet the day head on beginning with a frontal assault with farts.
3.that person will ask u out or say they love u tomarrow.

Haha I miss that! Reminds me of when I got my first computer back in 1999, haha. That old Dell Optiplex with a Pentium Processor that had only 100Mhz, haha.
First of all if she says that we are going to "start" going to church every Sunday, then apparently they are not doing so now. To group that lady into the same group of people who are devout and live their faith and attend Church every Sunday is ignorant. You judge a religion that those who adhere to it, not by those who do not. If you don't believe in Christ then man up and refuse gifts at Christmas.
Um, yeah. I can't, imagine, not, starting, not starting, my day, with, that sound TOO!?.
:-[
good. Good, good-times! yeah!?
Actually, when I had to subsist on dial-up, I removed the little speaker, on the board, so I wouldn't hear that annoying sound. You can litterally just pull it off.
But to some, this is gold. I understand. Each to their own.
actually that modem sound is coming from a tint piezoelectric speaker on the modem itself i have my old dialup modem from my old PC its made in puerto rico
