Im makinga 2d shooter and we cant get any kind of firing rate going :( how can we make it shoot like 4 shot burts or something.. something other than a steady stream of bullshit
@Varryance Basically with my demo, I had an event click in my code. When ever the mouse 1 is clicked, it will fire a bullet. If the mouse is held down it keeps firing at a constant rate I set for it my self. So what you could do is have a fire event, but instead of allowing the code to continue firing, stop after the first 4 bullets and force the user to click again for burst firing. That's sort of a vague idea but I hope that helps.
@Varryance create a variable on top of the Update Method and add the value of gameTime.ElapsedGameTime.Milliseconds to the variable int the beginning of the Update method and put an if statement that checks if a certain amount of milliseconds have passed once enough time has been reached and the if statement executes set the variable now to 0.
