@emilywarawa Hi, you will get better results by doing them every other day. You should have a 24 hour rest in between ab workouts in order for muscles to repair. That's how they tone and strengthen.

hi , can u answer a question ? i have a small apartment so i have to do sit ups on my bed its kinda soft .. so my question is does it have the same effect like on ground or that think you are sitting on ( sorry bad english ) :) thanks
Hi, you can do it either way. It's up to you. I do this entire routine when I do my situps workout, but you can omit parts or add different exercises as you see fit. If there is an exercise you don't like or you are uncomfortable doing, please do substitute something else or simply extend one of the other exercises, but do spend at least 10 minutes on your abs for best results.
Hi - Thanks for the video. I have been running seriously for about last 3-4 years ... did a couple of marathon .. I do swimming as well. Still, I have lots of flab in my stomach and thighs. I am sure it is to do with the diet. Do you have any complimentary videos for the diet control as well?
Hi, my YouTips4u t-shirts are not short. They are long cut to cover over your jeans as is the style right now. The shirt I am wearing in the video is an exercise top.
Hi, most likely you are not maintaining proper form and using your lower abs and small of your back to lift your body. Really concentrate on keeping perfect form and you will definitely feel it.
Hey thanks for uploading the videos..they really work..i can't believe i don't have to go to the gym to have a perfect body..:) well i wanted to know if you have exercises for reducing flabby arms??
Hi, I have a terrific push ups video that will show you proper form. Push ups are a terrific upper body exercise that will work your arms, chest and back.
Fyi viewers I used regular weight thay u use to work out ur arms for this routine and its so much easier because I can put one hand at each end of the weight it gives a better grip

Hi, thanks so much for your terrific feedback. I'm so glad you didn't give up when you couldn't do it the way I do. Kudos to you for improvising with the couch and then coming back to it to try again! That's the way to do it!! Stick with things and you will get there. Our bodies are so wonderful at accommodating new challenges. It's just that so many people give up before they see the results they want. You do need a regular schedule of exercise to see results. Hi, how quickly you see results really depends on whether you have weight to lose. If you have excess fat in your abdominal area, that will cover your abdominal muscles and it will be harder for you to see the results of your hard work. You should know, though, that the benefits are happening underneath. You are getting stronger and more toned and helping to bring in any flabby tummy fat. It takes time for results, but they will come with commitment and no, you should not avoid carbs and fats.
Many people believe these foods make you gain weight, but that is not true. Of course, you have to eat them in moderation and they have to be healthy choices like whole grain carbs and healthy fat. hi, i have a question, when i am doing crunches, my neck gets really stuff and sore. is it normal ? how can i adjust my position to prevent that from happening?
Hi, be sure you are originating the move from your lower back. Your lower back should press into the floor to lift up your upper body. You want the lift to come from your abdomen. Your neck is supported by your hands, but is not being pushed in any way. Usually when you experience any neck pain, you are not using the correct form. Sometimes, it can also be that your neck muscles are not strong and doing situps does improve neck strength because you are holding your head off the floor.
u are the best thank u very much for your vids, cant believe u are a mother of two.im so inspired..i wanna lose my belly fat and love handles,i have a body like urs tthats being messed up with the tummy of mine,2kids the 2nd being 6months.is it possible to just lose the tummy alone coz i have a petite figure i love my a## and everything else.i dont wanna lose anything else
Hi, just don't cut calories when you begin your exercising routine and you won't lose weight. Losing weight is what makes you lose all the other good spots. You can tone up your tummy with 10-12 minutes of ab training every other day and cardio exercise as well. You have just had your baby so go slow and give it time, you will get your figure back with consistency. It took me about 1 1/2 years after each child to look the way I do now mostly because I was breastfeeding.
Hi, i'm a 14 year old girl and well I'm trying to work myself in getting a flat tummy. I'm weigh about 120 lbs but since im young I cant exactly go to a gym and i have no one to drive me anywhere. And i dont exactly live in a good neighborhood to go walking places. But I do have a 5 lbs dumbell. Is it okay I use that because I dont have one of those flat weights? Oh and by the way I love what you're doing to help us people too. Thank You :)
Hi, I'm not sure how you would use two 5-pound dumbbells easily while doing your sit ups. Be careful you do not strain your neck have so much behind your head. It really is best to use a flat plate weight. Perhaps you can be more specific as to how you would do this and I will try to answer you more specially.
Hi, I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm going to try your routine. Is it okay when it's time to use the weights that I use two five pound dumbbells instead, or will I not get a lot of good results? I weigh about 110 pounds and don't have a lot of fat on my stomach but do you think if I do this twice a day, everyday, it's not overworking it and I can have abs similar to yours sooner?
Hi, you definitely want to keep your back flat on the floor when performing situps. You need to press the small of your back into the floor as you rise up off the floor with your shoulders in order to perform the movement correctly.
Hi, that's a difficult question because it depends on how much excess fat you have and how toned your muscles are when you begin your new routine. I can assure you that from day one, you are toning and strengthening your ab muscles even if you cannot see it if you have spare pounds.
ok so i have this home ab scuilpt vid, and its about 20 mins long and i've been doing the vid for about a week. Well every other day like do it, dont do it, do it, dont do it. for a week and i've notices that theres a slight curve in under the edge of the end of my ribs, is this a sign that my abs are forming. ps. im about 150 ibs! so that is waaayyy over wait for my age!!
Hi, move your feet out slightly away from you. That often helps. If that doesn't do it then slip your feet under the front of your couch or something you can use to stabilize your feet see if that helps.
Hi, I was hoping to get some advice. Everytime I do sit ups my neck hurts... I've tried to move using my body but still hurts a bit. i know I am doing it wrong. Can you help?
Hi, you are probably pulling your neck as you come up. Many people do this. Be sure you concentrate on lifting yourself off the floor using your lower back. Really press it into the floor. Keep your eyes straight up looking at the ceiling. Practice doing the sit ups with your arms crossed in front of you on your chest until you get the feel of using the small of your back to lift you and see if your neck feels better. Then add your hands to the back of your head. Hope that I could help :o)
Oh, boy! "If you can't do 25, do 15, or do 5..." Like so many teachers she's forgotten what it was like to get started. I let my abs go for years, and now I can't do this even once! To get a start on this, let yourself down about half way and come back up. Then try coming down a little more and back up, 5 or so reps. The older you get the longer it takes. If you can get the abs really fatigued, you should take a day break to rest -- muscles grow when they're resting.
Hi, don't worry about that, just do the crunches where you come a half way off the floor. You need to build up your ab muscles a bit before attempting a fuller move.
I used to able to do this but i'v stopped for a few days and for some reason my head like pushes me back or something, like my neck just falls back and i can only do lik 15 when i used to be able 75 whit no problems at all!
I really need help. I still havent gotten a six pack yet. If im tryin to lose belly fat i think it has something to do with my diet. Can i eat shredded wheat cereal? The shredded wheat cereal i eat has 40 carbs in it. I wanna eat whole grain bread, but its high in carbs as well. I thought you should cut carbs if you wanna lose weight? those materials have high carbs. Any suggestions. Should i not do a low carb diet if i wanna get abs?
Hi, whole grain carbs are very important for a balance diet. I don't recommend you cut them out. Shredded wheat is great as is whole grain bread. They help keep you full and have much needed fiber for your diet. they also assist in providing you with the energy needed to work out. You diet should be balanced. You have to include other food groups as well. My recommendation is to watch portion control and to eat several small meals throughout the day and do cardio exercise to help burn calories
You will find that your metabolism will stay revved and you will have the much needed energy to work on your cardio. If you are looking for a challenge for your abs to help get you over the plateau you may be in, please consider renting my Absolutely Abs Workout Video which is available for rent right here on YouTube. You will really feel the difference!
Hi, that's great. Please stick with it as it takes time for you to see results. Your muscles are improving, however, if you have excess fat covering your abs, you will not be able to see your ab muscles unless you shed the excess weight with cardio. Be sure not to do the sit up routine every day as this will result in no improvement. You must wait at least 24 hours in between workouts for your ab muscles to rest and heal. that's how they get more toned and stronger :o)
Hi, it depends on whether you have excess wait around your tummy because that may prevent you from seeing all your wonderful results until some of the weight is shed. Usually in two weeks, you can start to see results, although you will feel them immediately as your muscles become stronger and more toned.
HI, how kan i got a 6pack? i have done 100 normal sitaps every day from the firs week of summerbreak ( i just have a 1 week paus at summer) idont know if it is becose they are not big ennought or if i have som extra fat. but the musels doesent show ,What can i do to get them show?
Your series is very good. In health & physical fitness an inherent degree of risk exists so technique is critical to enhance effectiveness & efficiency awa ensuring a manageable degree of safety. In deferring to the latter, may I recommend another technique instead of holding the weight behind the neck? I can see a concern irt comfort for some (easily resolved) but what do you think about holding the weight in front or crossing the arms across the chest?
I find it more comfortable to place the weight behind your head because you still support your neck. Very often when hands are crossed in front of you your neck can feel strained because you are tensing it on the way up. If it doesn't bother you, you can do it in front, you need to just pay close attention to make sure of that.
great video! I am gonna start doing these right away... hopefully , after 3 months or so, I want to write back talking all about the difference it has made to me and my body !
Hi, don't get disheartened. Even if you don't see results, you are definitely toning & strengthening your abs. Sometimes it can take a bit of time to see results. Do you have excess weight to lose? This can often be the reason you don't see the definition.Be sure you are also doing cardio exercise regularly to burn excess fat. Stay committed and maintain a healthy balanced diet. Please check out my new Absolutely Abs Video available for rent here on YouTube. You will see results!
Hello I've started to do crunches but sometimes my lower back will hurt afterwards could it be that I am not doing the correct form and not realizing it?
Hi, it may be that one of the exercises doesn't agree with your back. Successfully doing crunches also depends on have a strong lower back; it may also be that your lower back muscles are not as strong as they could be. Try to figure out if it is one specific movement doing it and perhaps not perform that exercise for a bit while you concentrate on developing your abs further. Also, be sure you are not on a hard surface and if you are that you have a mat and that your clothing isn't causing it
Hi, you don't have to go all the way up to start. Go as far as you can and concentrate on doing the crunches as suggested. As your ab muscles become stronger and stronger, you will find it easier to be able to use your core to lift your body. Sometimes it helps if you anchor your feet under something in the beginning. Remember exercise is not about what you cannot do, it's concentrating on what you can do comfortably and correctly. Keep up the good work :o)
Fantastic. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation !! That was a great job for people like us who wants to reduce weight and make the ab muscles stronger. Thanks once again !!
Hi, I am always adding to my routine to make it more challenging. Give yourself about 2 weeks to be able to do all parts of this routine if you are not used to doing a lot of ab work.
thats for such a fab video, i find my motivation here on youtube watching while i work out, just hoping i can tone fast! im not exactly fat as i am a size 8 here in the UK but it would be nice to have a flat stomach, which exercise would you say is the quickest to tone the lower muscles as im gunna be in a bikini in 2 week :D thanks
um...im 14 and weigh about 99 pounds and i just have a gut that i really want to get rid of and i get embarresed when i go to the pool or beach so i could really use ur help what should i do?
Hi, with exercise you can definitely tone this area and get rid of your gut. You would need to exercise at least 3-4 days a week. I recommend cardio exercise for at least 30-40 minutes followed by abs workout.
Hi, i'm 13 years old, 154cm and 98 pounds. i know i am average for my height, but i really really really want a flat toned stomach! please help! oh and i can't manage to do sit ups. i dont know why. i just cant pull myself up ):
Hi, that really depends on your current level of fitness. I do recommend you spend at least 10 minutes every other day working your abs. If you need motivation and are looking for a challenge, I will be posting an Abs Exercise DVD here on YouTube today that you can rent. The actual workout is over 30 minutes on your abs. This you can do 3 times a week and you will get amazing results.
Hi, I would need a lot more information to try to give you an opinion, like height, body frame, whether you are a guy or girl. You can decide by taking a look at your waistline. Do you see excess fat, love handles, etc. This can be an indication that you need to tone up, do cardio, and eliminate the junk food.
Hey im a few years younger than shaileykhan and i have a question. I swim almost daily and eat healthy foods and started working out but i dont know how mych i should do a day. For instance:
Hi, do at least 30-40 minutes of cardio followed by strength training for upper body toning, abs exercises to work your stomach and leg toning exercises. This portion of your work out should be another 30 minutes of so. Do that 3-4 times a week. You can always walk for some activity on your off days.
hello .. i have a lil bit fatty abs , my age is 20, i get my belly divided into 3 sections whn i sit . and i hate this , i want a flat belly . i hav just started like ur 2nd exercise , do u hav any special diet plan ? do tell me
Hi, please take a look at my diet tips video. I always recommend a well -balanced diet containing all the nutritional food groups and I practice portion control and eating only when I'm hungry. I also recommend eating several small meals and snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism revved and to avoid ravenous hunger which can lead to overeating. Keep working at it and don't forget to do cardio exercise :o)
hello ... i like your tips .. u knw i hav just start to work out on my belly . and started to do sit ups which u do on 2nd number . u knw my body hav creases on bell , my bell divided into 3 small section whn i use to sit and i hate it . my age is 20 , and i want a flat belly . do u hav any special diet plan to loose abdomen fat ?
8-10 minutes 3-4 times a week. In about two weeks you should see great results. This does depend on whether you also need to lose body fat. If so I recommend doing cardio 3-4 times a week as well.
Hi, I have a question like kione7 said i can't bring myself all the way up with out either throwing my weight or pulling on my neck and unless i tie my feet down my feet will always leave the floor is there a way i can remedy my form. i will be gratful for any advice thank you.
Hi, you can always go slower. It's actually better because it works your core even more. As your ab and core muscles become stronger, you will definitely be able to go all the way up. Don't rush it, it may take some time and you don't want to strain yourself with any exercise.
Hi, be sure you maintain proper form when doing your crunches. You should not be pushing on your neck to perform this exercise. Also, please keep in mind that doing ab workouts also strengthen your neck muscles, so if you are maintaining perfect form, yet your neck seems a little sore, it could be that your neck muscles need to be built up a bit.
@WhySoSerious1414 keep your tongue pressed against the roof of your mouth when you do sit-ups.keeps pressure off your neck.learned it in some exercise video along time ago.and it works.your neck won't hurt=)
@YouTips4U hello there, im 15 and first off id like to say i have the outline of a six pack SLIGHTLY, and if i do 25 every hour or so for 2 weeks would i notice a difference? i really want a 6 pack ASAP possibly 4 weeks, if i was to do situps 25 every hour would that get me them in that time?
Hi, a better plan would be to do about 10 minutes of concentrated ab work with varying routines every other day. You really need a day in between for rest so your muscles can rest; that's how they get stronger and firmer. You will definitely see results in four weeks.
Hi, you should do these stomach exercises every other day. You don't want to do them everyday because you need time to rest and repair your muscles in between; that's how they grow stronger and firmer. With consistency, you should see results in about 2 weeks. You will definitely feel it faster, probably the next day! Try to spend at least 8-10 minutes on your routine.
Hi, this will definitely help tone up and define your abs. If you want to lose weight, you will have to do cardio exercise as well to help burn calories. This includes exercises like jogging, walking, swimming, aerobics classes, etc.
Hi, I've tried to think of a substitute for the plate weights, but I haven't come up with any ideas. They really are terrific to use because they fatigue your muscles quickly so you get so much more out of your abs workout. they're so great for building strength and gaining definition. You can buy them pretty cheap on ebay :o)
Hi, be sure you are using correct form. Also, for best results you should be working your abs for 8-10 minutes. You don't want to do your ab routine every day because you won't see results as your muscles need a day of rest to repair. That's how they get more toned and stronger. So every other day at the most.
Do these really work? They dont look as hard work as (for example) working on a cross trainer. Also when i do these,my neck hurts,im not putting any pressure on it either. So where ele can i put my arms? Like can i cross them on my chest? x
Thank u so much for this video im going to start this monday. Question do i have to do it everyday?
anaof16 1 week ago
@anaof16 Hi, no every other day or 3-4 times a week. It's good to give your ab muscles a day of rest in between workouts.

910elnissi 8 months ago

Thank You :)
paintingmz 9 months ago
Hi, I'm not sure how you would use two 5-pound dumbbells easily while doing your sit ups. Be careful you do not strain your neck have so much behind your head. It really is best to use a flat plate weight. Perhaps you can be more specific as to how you would do this and I will try to answer you more specially.
YouTips4U 8 months ago
Hi, I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm going to try your routine. Is it okay when it's time to use the weights that I use two five pound dumbbells instead, or will I not get a lot of good results? I weigh about 110 pounds and don't have a lot of fat on my stomach but do you think if I do this twice a day, everyday, it's not overworking it and I can have abs similar to yours sooner?

how do you keep your back so straight? I have a posture issue, and i wonder if arching my back is bad for doing sit ups?
live4icecreamu2 9 months ago
Hi, you definitely want to keep your back flat on the floor when performing situps. You need to press the small of your back into the floor as you rise up off the floor with your shoulders in order to perform the movement correctly.

Hello. How long does it take to lose your gut with crunches.?
MyLovely2011 9 months ago
Hi, that's a difficult question because it depends on how much excess fat you have and how toned your muscles are when you begin your new routine. I can assure you that from day one, you are toning and strengthening your ab muscles even if you cannot see it if you have spare pounds.

Hi i cant seem to do the crunches as my fee keep raising into the air. how do i compensate for this without placing weights under my feet?
Updehill 11 months ago
Hi, move your feet out slightly away from you. That often helps. If that doesn't do it then slip your feet under the front of your couch or something you can use to stabilize your feet see if that helps.

Hi, I was hoping to get some advice. Everytime I do sit ups my neck hurts... I've tried to move using my body but still hurts a bit. i know I am doing it wrong. Can you help?
shakin001 11 months ago

Should i not do a low carb diet if i wanna get abs?
atlmycity2 1 year ago
Hi, whole grain carbs are very important for a balance diet. I don't recommend you cut them out. Shredded wheat is great as is whole grain bread. They help keep you full and have much needed fiber for your diet. they also assist in providing you with the energy needed to work out. You diet should be balanced. You have to include other food groups as well. My recommendation is to watch portion control and to eat several small meals throughout the day and do cardio exercise to help burn calories

I've been doing this routine except for the weights part for almost 2 weeks and I don't see any change. What do I do?!
mysterywillow7 1 year ago
Hi, that's great. Please stick with it as it takes time for you to see results. Your muscles are improving, however, if you have excess fat covering your abs, you will not be able to see your ab muscles unless you shed the excess weight with cardio. Be sure not to do the sit up routine every day as this will result in no improvement. You must wait at least 24 hours in between workouts for your ab muscles to rest and heal. that's how they get more toned and stronger :o)

mysterywillow7 1 year ago
Hi, it depends on whether you have excess wait around your tummy because that may prevent you from seeing all your wonderful results until some of the weight is shed. Usually in two weeks, you can start to see results, although you will feel them immediately as your muscles become stronger and more toned.

Btw, r u in this video? WUfCj-xODhU
franknblunt 1 year ago
I find it more comfortable to place the weight behind your head because you still support your neck. Very often when hands are crossed in front of you your neck can feel strained because you are tensing it on the way up. If it doesn't bother you, you can do it in front, you need to just pay close attention to make sure of that.

Hello I've started to do crunches but sometimes my lower back will hurt afterwards could it be that I am not doing the correct form and not realizing it?
OtakuLuv 1 year ago
Hi, it may be that one of the exercises doesn't agree with your back. Successfully doing crunches also depends on have a strong lower back; it may also be that your lower back muscles are not as strong as they could be. Try to figure out if it is one specific movement doing it and perhaps not perform that exercise for a bit while you concentrate on developing your abs further. Also, be sure you are not on a hard surface and if you are that you have a mat and that your clothing isn't causing it

i can't go all the way up, i find it difficult to lift my self all the way up so what shall i do?
pink10size 1 year ago
Hi, you don't have to go all the way up to start. Go as far as you can and concentrate on doing the crunches as suggested. As your ab muscles become stronger and stronger, you will find it easier to be able to use your core to lift your body. Sometimes it helps if you anchor your feet under something in the beginning. Remember exercise is not about what you cannot do, it's concentrating on what you can do comfortably and correctly. Keep up the good work :o)

crazybycuteable 1 year ago

Hi, do at least 30-40 minutes of cardio followed by strength training for upper body toning, abs exercises to work your stomach and leg toning exercises. This portion of your work out should be another 30 minutes of so. Do that 3-4 times a week. You can always walk for some activity on your off days.

Keep working at it and don't forget to do cardio exercise :o)

kione7 1 year ago
Hi, you can always go slower. It's actually better because it works your core even more. As your ab and core muscles become stronger, you will definitely be able to go all the way up. Don't rush it, it may take some time and you don't want to strain yourself with any exercise.

Hi(: should i feel like i just worked out my neck or a strain afterwards?
WhySoSerious1414 1 year ago
Hi, be sure you maintain proper form when doing your crunches. You should not be pushing on your neck to perform this exercise. Also, please keep in mind that doing ab workouts also strengthen your neck muscles, so if you are maintaining perfect form, yet your neck seems a little sore, it could be that your neck muscles need to be built up a bit.

Hi, a better plan would be to do about 10 minutes of concentrated ab work with varying routines every other day. You really need a day in between for rest so your muscles can rest; that's how they get stronger and firmer. You will definitely see results in four weeks.

beez5899 1 year ago
Hi, you should do these stomach exercises every other day. You don't want to do them everyday because you need time to rest and repair your muscles in between; that's how they grow stronger and firmer. With consistency, you should see results in about 2 weeks. You will definitely feel it faster, probably the next day! Try to spend at least 8-10 minutes on your routine.

Hi, I've tried to think of a substitute for the plate weights, but I haven't come up with any ideas. Rey2play619 1 year ago
Hi, be sure you are using correct form. Also, for best results you should be working your abs for 8-10 minutes. You don't want to do your ab routine every day because you won't see results as your muscles need a day of rest to repair. That's how they get more toned and stronger. So every other day at the most.
