  • Splendid.

  • @chujwtwojejdupie

    :) thank you.

  • This video is hilarious and very helpful

  • @DrBraids

i'm glad you think so. it was actually very time intensive and some folks may not realize this.

  • Can't believe Jonathon is really singing this song. It's awesome!!!! If he had a real band I would totally listen to them ALL THE TIME.

  • Imagery is amusing.

  • It's about Edie - poor wild child - used & abused by that scrote Warhol.

  • I thought this WAS Brian Eno when I first heard it at 14 and only recently found that it isnt!!!

  • well thank you. i will let my counterpart know our genius was appreciated. :)

  • genius video! you're now my personal hero!

  • this song is awsome so is the film :)

  • made a wrong turn...thought this a compilation of JC's venus in furs and DW's cover of WCPAEB's 'a child of a few hours'.

instrumental has piqued my interest though, especially the drone

  • Great!!!

  • If this is seen separate from Fripp's solo, and Eno's vocals, it is quite enjoyable. Can't and shouldn't compare to Phil Manzanara either.

  • @WPODOD thank you for not comparing and enjoying the ridiculousness of it. :)

  • Crude graphics which invoke "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" - an homage? Either way, they're enjoyable to follow.

  • @lambchopsf

i've never seen that film, but thank you for enjoying. :)

  • love the song.

i was 17 and inlove with a man for the 1st time and sad and all that gay crap when i saw the movie.

    really godsent.

  • Jonathan Rhys Meyers has a wicked voice...and he's uber HOT!

  • having heard this song from the perspective of a Brian Eno fan, it's interesting seeing the interpretation of this song through the eyes of people who first saw it in Velvet Goldmine.

  • Isn't it about masturbation fantasies and the emptiness of superficiality and how being a poser doesn't provide any real satisfaction ?

I could run on like that for hours. ;o>

  • @moulinrouged

perhaps. but what is real satisfaction and who decides a person is a poser? these things are left to be decided by our peers who are almost always biased for one reason or another.

  • @xcovermyeyesx

I never listen to decisions made by my peers but I do judge all of them relentlessly.

  • Do you know where I can find the album? I've searched alot for it!

  • @stenografie

i'm sorry, the only thing i can tell you is that it is on the velvet goldmine soundtrack.

  • @stenografie

I think that the original album is out of print. I can't see that "Baby" listed on the on the movie soundtrack disc but there is lots of other subversive underground music of it's time. I am disappointed that Iggy Pop is not featured on the soundtrack b/c it's his boyhood experiences that the Kurt Wild character is based on.....

  • @stenografie do you want the original or this shit?

  • Excellent illustration aids!

  • @BarbieGuitars why thank you. a lot of time and effort went into them ;)

  • Better than the other cover. This one is alright.

Still nothing on Eno though, but Eno can only be rivaled by a select few anyway.

  • excellent.

  • good version

  • Once and for all: JONATHAN RHYS MEYER is the singer here at this particular song!

  • Brian Eno?

  • This is great those pics are so good everything in sync! Brilliant!

It's just a song people nothing to be up at arms! Its for fun...That is Jonathan Rhys Meyers singing. The Cd has both singing.

    I<3JRM

  • Wtf is with the video lmfao.

i think the song has a deeper meaning then someone waiting at a one hour photo

  • deeper meanings are left for fans to interpret. really, it's about paparazzi and photojournalism. i mean -'waiting for photos, oh the plot is so bewitching' -it's pretty obvious this is a commentary on people's inability to believe without seeing. people are dying, no one's watching -they're waiting for pictures.

but to answer your question, my cousin and i made this video for fun. :)

  • I didn't need a lecture, i'm well aware. Lol.

Well I'd hope its just for fun.. otherwise I might be asking what a five year old is doing watching Velvet Goldmine.

  • According to Brian Eno, the song is literally about a baby burning and people laughing at it, that's it.

  • they say thom yorke but sounds nothing like him

  • love the song ,this is not the album

version, who is it on guitar?

  • check out the "velvet goldmine" soundtrack -that may be helpful in finding who is on guitar.

  • @donniemac2 That'd be Bernard Butler on guitar. He used to play for Suede.

  • I thought it was jonny greenwood

  • Love the song and i really don't mind the video you made. Why are people up and arms about it?

  • because they've taken themselves way too seriously. :) thank you for some support.

  • hey i like it great song to

  • Wow.

    Just... wow.

    BRB bleaching my eyes.

  • aaargh. I cant take a vid that is literal to the song seriously. this vid is the most literal I've seen. makes the whole experience trite. no creativity.

  • The singing is pretty good in this version, but i like Brian's... also, the guitar doesn't level up to the might of Fripp,

  • loving that crazy jonny guitar

  • Ahhhh PAINFUL!!!

  • Roger,

It's not about a "Baby" as in an "Infant".

  • They shouldn't allow morons like you to own computers.

  • Its awesome!!!!

  • but shiny piece of leather is mint

  • your video is ironic and funny!!5 stars!!

  • UH.

  • The song is far better than this video gives it credit.

  • that's funny =D

  • it's fucking beautiful in the movie, if you know what i'm sayin'

  • heeell yeah! thats like the best scene in the movie! that and Curt's first concert! hahahahaha!

  • lol i like the vid!

  • I don't really like the vid acctually, but I love this song anyway so thanks 4 posting :) just saw the movie by the way ^^

  • wheres the club remix?

  • You suck

  • its an AMAZING song!!..you ass..

  • my ass slid off my body on account of the laughing

  • interesting...like kids'drawing

  • this is what the fuck

  • This song is good when Eno does it, but this.. is soooo much better!!!

  • thank you XD

  • quite agree with you, though both versions are excellent, this one is even better~~

  • One of my favorite covers x3

And makes me think of Velvet Goldmine...

    the movie,not the song x3!

  • i like it

  • great !! love it! every second of it

  • couldn't get this out of my head. Glad to find this. Both this version and the one from the movie which any Bowie fan recognizes.

I love to show people this movie cause yes, that is Obi Wan and Batman doing the deed. Now pick your jaw up.

  • Makes you realize just how freaking brilliant Brian Eno's work is. He didn't just produce

U2 BTW. He produced Devo's debut, Talking Heads, and many other brilliant works. Not only this he made 4 of the best vocal album's ever. Sorry, rambling. Brian Eno's work. The best legacy in modern music. This clip. Another crappy cover.

  • lol

  • mmmmmm.

Nothing like a little Ken on Ken action.

    :)

  • i agree. ;)

  • ...

  • you should do it with the original version, the one of brian eno, it would be more fun

  • Great clip, very funny, Thanks for this song, i love that !!!

    VELVET GOLDMINE POWAAAAAA !!!!

  • EXCELLENT! *****

  • I have it, if you'd like it.

  • lol love the pictures

  • ebay i am getting it new for 12 bucks

  • try a torrent download...i have utorrent and downloaded it from mininova...easy...

  • I prefer the Brian Eno's version at "Here Comes the warm Jets'', with the most fantastic guitar solo of all times by the amazing Robert Fripp. But this one is a very, very good cover

  • that is Brian Eno's version!

  • no its not babe, wouldnt you know the voice? dont comment unless youre sure. dope.

  • Listen to the other Brian Eno's Version at the same time like I did then will talk

  • I am sure I Just finish listening to both so yeah you are wrong

  • Never mind you are right I like both versions is this the one the guy that played brian slade in the movie did?

  • yeah i like this the best

  • Yes

  • This is actually the actor's voice, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers....:P

  • This version is very lame compared to the original of Eno and Fripp.

  • cute!!

  • Hahahahaha. Hilarious!
