great banter in the video but really? a Mach 5 mind controlled super fighter with enough technology in it to put best buy (the whole company) out of business vs a mach 1 modified bell 222? thats like putting a P-51 mustang up vs the F-22. in an air to air combat match the multi-role attack helicopter stacked up to possibly the most movie silly air superiority fighter ever cooked up in a mad mans vision short or robotech and you have the chopper come out on top? love the show loved the movie but.
Still love this video. If I can have one minor criticism (and it's a tiny niggling nitpick), the sound of Airwolf's guns doesn't seem quite right. But that's a very small niggle to a superb video.
@OptimusSledge sadly that was down to the re-edit of the video, the sound seam'd to distort because the audio levels were off in the editor i have the original edit somewere but i cant find it, if i ever do i will try to fix it because i love this one to, sadly back then wmv seam'd easier for people to use as it comes with windows & i got less questions when i distributed as wmv

Totally, Firefox was pretty awesome, and tbh the mig series aerodynamically has always been pretty damn good, look at the suu series as well, the fulcrum, flanker, The Russians were quite advanced with Thrust vectroing tech as opposed to us who went more with avionics and weapon systems.
Jasminjade: airwolf was known to exceed 2,000 mph. Most dogfights occur WELL below those speeds though, and at mach 6 i would wonder if weapons would even be deployable?

Blue Thunder is a crowd controll chopper which to be honest is more like a news chopper! Airwolf Wouldnt even brake a sweat! Ahhh great vid , i personally would take airwolf.....the FOX is just damn ugly hahaha sure it might beat the lady in an air to air fight but Mr eatswood couldnt fly it properly....String knew the lady and all her characterisitics so pilot Vs pilot....A whole different ball game and also the lady has the looks hahaha. Great edit. Firefox was a much under-rated film. The plane is referred to as a MiG-31 because when the original book (by Craig Thomas) was written in the late 1970s NATO did n 't know about the real life MiG-31. The author just took the next number in the sequence.

@TheWraith : In the 1985 Bond movie "A View To A Kill", the veteran actor Patrick McNee is seen driving Roger Moore in a Rolls Royce. A reference is made that the car is a Rolls. Imagine what viewers would have said if the car had been referred to as a "BMW." A Rolls is a "known quantity." In a similar vein, the futuristic aircraft in "Firefox" is referred to as a Mig31, which it clearly isn't. When dealing with a real, known product, film producers should not try to misrepresent it.

@TheRasam That's not true. The real MiG 31's maiden flight (according to Wikipedia) took place on 16 Sep 1975. The book (again, Wikipedia) was published in 1977 and the film was released in 1982. Also, the real MiG 31 was called Foxhound, not Firefox. So, both the book and the film were released well after the plane was introduced into the Soviet Air Force.

The West first knew of a "Super MiG-25" in 76 when a MiG-25 pilot defected to Japan and described it - which of course became the source of inspiration for "Firefox". Western intelligence actually called the new plane MiG-31. To some extent the defector's claims were initially dismissed until one was spotted by satellite destroying a target under 200 feet from a range of 20 km while flying at 20,000 feet.

Totally, Firefox was pretty awesome, and tbh the mig series aerodynamically has always been pretty damn good, look at the suu series as well, the fulcrum, flanker, The Russians were quite advanced with Thrust vectroing tech as opposed to us who went more with avionics and weapon systems.

Jasminjade: airwolf was known to exceed 2,000 mph. Most dogfights occur WELL below those speeds though, and at mach 6 i would wonder if weapons would even be deployable?

BRAVO!!! Excellent editing. i enjoyed the dirty harry thoughts of the mig jocky lol an as for the comment about Blue Thunder, BEHAVE!! Blue Thunder is a crowd controll chopper which to be honest is more like a news chopper! Airwolf Wouldnt even brake a sweat! Again tho BRAVO for this little film, it would be really cool if u could make a whole film out of clips like this lol maybe thro Knight Rider and Street Hawk into it too hahaha.

Ahhh great vid , i personally would take airwolf.....the FOX is just damn ugly hahaha sure it might beat the lady in an air to air fight but Mr eatswood couldnt fly it properly....String knew the lady and all her characterisitics so pilot Vs pilot....A whole different ball game and also the lady has the looks hahaha. But its great to see a bit of fun, and also Airwolf is not a plane...it is a helicopter or an aircraft ;).

Great vid - I gotta agree with the posters that Firefox would dominate Airwolf. String was a better pilot for sure, but., come on, mach 3 and rear firing missile pods fired by thinking in Russian. 'Nuff said.
Either would kick Maverick's ass in that p.o.s. F-14 of his. Iceman, not so much. I mean, his flying was like ice.
