@whygod1105 well, O2 is the gas that we need and breathe in, but chemical and physical properties of molecules differ significantly when additional atoms are added to the molecule. For example, H2O is non-toxic and needed by all life, but the addition of another Oxygen molecule drastically changes the molecules properties. H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide and quite toxic and used in hair dyes. Similar to how proton numbers determine the element of an atom.
Grapes are but you would probably be asked to leave your dormitory. I had students doing that crap all over Chico, CA and had to do the repairs. What a bunch of...
NO2 and O3 are made, both of which are toxic. Do not breathe it in.
So far as water keeping your magnetron from getting burnt out, I have my doubts, just don't let the experiment run for too long and you should be fine.
Just put some water in there somewhere, for me it was in the crevice ontop of the bowl, if you've got a shotglass or something you can put water in it and set it to the side.
@Hawokki well that even when you're not microwaving anything with water in it because microwaves make water molecules vibrate that creates friction which makes your food hot, so when nothing with water is in the microwave while its going, over a period time you microwave will burn up like a clutch in the car
He's right, anyway microwave radiation only stays around while the microwave is on, but do be careful of the N02 (not nitrous oxide, its nitrogen dioxide) which is toxic, so don't stay near the microwave after the experiment for more than a minute.
sooooooooooooooooooo fake

I just saw a comment NO2 and O3 are both toxic, O3 would be 3 molecules of Oxygen?
So oxygen is toxic now or what?

If there isn't any water in the microwave when it's done it can burn up the magnetron. Or so I've heard, best to put some in anyways.

Ok... So I put a little water under the cup?

you kno if it produces to much plasma it can back fire your microwave and the radioactivty can spread your house

plasma has nothing to do with radioactivity, moron.
