I saw John Vanderslice down at the Borderline in London, had no idea who he was but was awestruck, he has an amazing control on his voice and to see him live was just unbelievable I haven't stopped listening to him since. Great singer song writer and I wish him all the best in the future because there is a real talent there. Really refreshing to find someone truly talented and dedicated.

am i the only commenter here who actually knows john vanderslice as a musician? so before you post comments like lame, etc. just so you know, that's how he actually sings. anyway, about the song, promising actress is one of my fave from JV (mainly because of the movie mulholland dr.) but im quite disappointed from this arrangement. they could've done more. the fact that it almost sound like the album ver makes me sad.
