  • Best intro music for a C64 game and best version of Magnetic Fields ever, only the SID chip could produce this kind of feeling ! Thanks. PS: second place is for the Rambo loader and third place the Ocean loader 1 ;-)

  • hardest game ever! there was a guy with bamboo stick. he could actually pin you down and hit you to death and there was nothing you could do!

  • Jean Michel Jarr

  • First time listen and loving it :)

  • Simply fantastic! Galway is the undisputed King of SID.

  • @storhemulen i dissagree he is awesome don't get me wrong but in my opinion i think ron hubbard the the king of sid

  • BlakeVII...true...i am a Jarre fan..100%....but this song is, AWESOME good..mind you, this is a C64 with 64kb RAM....Sooo good!!

  • Never played the game, i was more an Exploding Fist or International Karate guy. BUT the music for this game is just the best. Galway rules.

  • Martin Galway rules c64 music.

  • AAAAWESOME!!! :-))

  • Its a nice remake of "Magnetic Fields Part 4" from Jean-Michel Jarre.

  • 6:51

  • I'm so glad I found this, it's been in my head for years, too.

But is it just me, or is this slower than the version I heard way back when? I taped the music off of my friend's computer and listened to it as a kid sometimes, but lost the tape, but I'd be willing to bet money that the version I had was faster (and not just because of the tape pitch problem, either).

  • @bjonas0725

That may be because you know the NTSC (American) version, while this one is the slower PAL (European) one.

  • Ocean loader 2, this title tune and some catchy in-game music, this game is a real musical tour de force.

  • This is definitely the TOP in C64 music. No, wait, scratch this. This is definitely the TOP in video games music! Havn't heard a game music that good in over 20 years!

  • One of the best C64 music.

  • When i wanted to play this game i ended up not playing it but keep listening to the theme song.

  • This song kicks the shit out of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and the rest of the ever-more recent trashy music producing "artists".

  • @nensondubois Amen to that

  • Corria el año 1987 cuando jugué por primera vez este título... y aunque el juego era muy bueno, su tema musical siempre fué lo mejor... excelente!!

Me trae muchos recuerdos de mi adolescencia!

    Gracias por subir este video.

  • Possibly my favourite C64 song. Galway most certainly my favourite SID composer.

  • Wicked! Played this game on the Amstrad CPC 464.

  • I always used this tune to psych me up before playing as a kid. Games back then really could encourage your imagination. Those were the days man...

  • Best fucking Music of C64 Times! Thanks for posting!

  • Loved this game! Love this tune!! I miss the '80's!!

  • Epic! Epic!

Please kill me! Maybe I got reborn in the 80s again...

  • @Phacioco89 probably in the 2080's as a chipmunk.lol

fantastic tune. the 80's, sigh, decade of my youth.

  • Amazingly beautiful. Beautiful is the wording for it. This is a tune that I would never forget. :D

  • POWERFUL

  • wow, thank god for youtube so i can hear this again, hey im 20 again!!. thanks.

  • what a tune jeane michel jarre + martin galway = classic in my book

  • Arrangement of Jarre's 'Magnetic Fields'? Could someone post a link to that "original"? I listened to "Magnetic Fields 1" from his Aero album, and I wouldn't call it an arrangement. At its most slightly influenced, in my opinion...

  • It's Magnetic Fields IV.

  • Just listen to this... this is maybe the finest moment in the C-64 games music history!

Even though it's been over 20 years since I really played the game (emulators don't count), this is an incredible piece of history of C-64 composing!

Imagine, that Martin Galway actually programmed the music with assembly code instead of using i.e. Midi!

  • I want to thank you for puting this nostalgic musictune on yt.I get so many memories from 87 so I cant iksplaejn.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this Netto! The first time I heard this this tune was from a primitive C64 text/gfx editor where your every keypress is recorded and played back. This is the music my brother and I chose to accompany our scrawlings all those decades ago.

It's loaded with nostalgia for us and I hope to record and upload those comedic scribblings for your enjoyment. I'm sure my brother still has the '64 and the disk as not 5 years ago he pulled it out to look.

    Thanks!

  • I haven't been chilled like i am right now never in my entire life!!

This is a magnetic & atmospheric music which brings great memories from the past, thank u very much for uploading this!! this is the game of my childhood.

  • I forgot to say....

When playing this game as a kid I used to leave it awhile so I could hear the music. Somtimes I'd allow it to play thru 3 times before picking up the joystick (as it was called in those days) to play again. This is the best music on any C64 game - my opinion.

Zot - Prince Dryfus of Sirius IV

  • OH WOW ITS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't heard this in almost 20 years.

Thanks you for uploading this. Really good. Much appreciated.

  • This music has been in my head for 25 years :D

    Thanks for posting :D

  • same for me

  • Absolutely agree. What an amazing arrangement this was. Great to hear it again. Thanks for posting

  • This is a kinda crazy thing to say - but I love this version better than JMJ's version !!

  • When you say, you love this version better than the JMJ's original, thats not crazy!!!

I understand what you mean and I agree with you. I heard the original JMJ and all that did was to make me miss hearing the C64 version all the more. I prefer the C64 version over the original.

  • Yeah, same here!!!

  • @kbdkbd99: Me too! Since 1988 or so.....(23 years)

  • does anyone have the loading music for ye ar kung fu C64

  • Hearing Jean Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields as a C64 chiptune is the coolest thing ever.

Martin Galway just gave me chills with this cover.

  • this is great title song

  • This music is quite simply brilliant. Martin Galway is a genius. The Miami Vice tune he composed is staggeringly good.

  • Amazing music from Martin Galway :-)

  • ... and still i enjoyed every second of it.

  • sympa le mec qui fait passer la musique de JMJ pour la sienne XD
