There are many great RPGs out there like Fire Emblem, Phantasy Star, Star Ocean, Lufia, and Dragon Quest. But it's a big shame that neither of these titles get so much respect as Final Fantasy.

ok, i got a genesis collection, and i dont understand this game very well, even though i played it for like 10 mins lol, is there a way to command your characters more in combat? I pressed fight once and my guy killed all the enemies....just wondering if there is more control.

Also you can upgrade super fast if you know what the power levels are... Save before the level and then can boost like hell!

My characters start at lvl 1 and 12hp and tp. But how come your characters start at 77hp and 40tp?

The main thing I hate about this game that when you think your storng enough to go to the next place, like the biolab, you go in then some monster kills you and you didnt save your game. I really hate that it makes me not want to play anymore, or atleast a couple months. I got sega collection and I got it back in May and its Nov now and I'm just getting back in to it.

Yeah alot of old school Rpgs are extremely rougth well minus Final Fantasy 2 and 3 US(FF 4 and 6) as Square toned the difficulty down among other things. I just started playing Phantasy star 1(I'm playing them in order) on the (Sonic's) Ulitmate Genesis Collection and I got owned first time out when I steped into the forest and jumped by 2 owl bear and owned again three more times. These old school rpgs are rough but I like it that way if it's too easy I get bored like I did with Fallout 3.

Now don't get me wrong, I love a challenge. But if the monters, fiend, ect are WAY stronger than you, and you're beginner weapons are shit then thats what I hate. I kinda don't have a patience for doing the same thing over and over, you know, beating the weaker monsters to beat the stronger ones. It gets old pretty fast.

you know this rpg was unlike most at the time in the US. They had to create a strategy guide just to help players through it.

Damn game is near impossible to figure out what to do at times.

I see why. I hate thinking I'm so strong and DONT SAVE I end up going somewhere where a fiend does something that can hit everyone at once and you can't recover everyone at once. You try to run away but the damn thing wont let you most of the time. If I die I get so pissed off I wont play it for months.

For a game made in 1989, its kind of nuts to see the monsters with animation. A lot of classic RPGs, up til like 92 didnt have animated monsters or battles, well not very animated.

Not true Phantasy Star 1 came out in 1988 and had the same battle animations, well at least the enemys did anyway as you couldn't see your party just the hits they landed.

What current equipment does Rolf have at this point in the game? I want to compare to make sure I have the best. In this game id doesnt tell you if its better before you buy it so I cant tell.

2 ceramic knives, and I can't remember what armor he had when I recorded this. But you could just save before you buy anything.

Meh, it doesnt matter, grinding for cash will just lvl me up more and this game I can tell is gonna kick my ass if I am not careful, so every lvl counts.
