@BledsoeBluvd 3rd finger is naturally your strongest finger. Pinky is weakest. If you hare having problems with both then you need to look at some ways of building your strength.
The higher the action the thouger the training.. would there be anything wrong with that idea ? or should i lower it first.. (i have a somewhat higher action than usual because i like the way strings vibrate) and then raise it gradually ?
Hi Pebber, how do cure the inevitable fingers that stick out n out of your control? How do you develop the ability to always keep the them right above the frets?
@Sivels You are still going way way way too fast! If you CANT CONTROL IT you are going too fast. You have to slow it down until its AUNT JEMIMA MOLASSES in the FREEZER slow slow slow. And then do it for 4 months like that.
Yep, these are great exercises. I've been doing them for a while, but eventually they didn't hurt my fingers anymore. Instead my arm started hurting before my fingers did. So I stopped doing them. Its amazing how many people don't use their pinkys hardly at all. I was at a halloween party the other day and playing guitar with some people and 99% of them were 3 finger players. Like no pinky at all. Which is fine I guess, but i bet they wouldnt suck if they had better technique.
if i play for example 0-4 does that mean that i have to hit the open string then hammer on with pinky then pull of to open string and hammer on with pinky again? (not good in english)
@312chicagoadam YES! just stay tuned - I am doing the entire next video on using a metronome with trills. Also adding an unusual segment that no one ever explains to anyon ever - except all the big boys know the secret - McLaughlin, Holdsworth, Satriani, Vai and yes you know who knows the practice technique of using a metronome -with practicing vibrato- no one teaches anyone how to do that - But I will!
Wait, never mind. That was a stupid question. Of course it will help me with those fingers! lol I"m sorry for wasting your time man. I was just being stupid I guess. lol
Thanks for the video man! Another great exercise. I can easily do the 1-2 1-3 and 1-4 but I need to work on my 1-4 a little more I suppose. Will these exercises help when I play a scale that uses my 1-3-4 fingers on one string? That's where I have the biggest problem in is getting all three of those fingers to work together in synchronization. lol
Thanks again man! :)
oh yeah I really enjoy the slide show and then the lesson style videos. they really help.
is it just me or is trilling using ur 3rd and pinky finger really hard?
